Evans is a childish mongrel, the unknown yank was mildly funny (in a transatlantic sense), Sabine was the only person in the whole bunch with any charisma.... BIN IT!!!

You are being sarcastic surely, or just meaning relative to the others?!

Evans good in the studio, poor in the cars trying to be Clarkson. LeBlanc poor in the studio, good in the cars. Too much shouting and no chemistry between the hosts.

This show needed a refresh and reboot but what we got was Evans looking nervous and LeBlanc who just doesn't strike me as a presenter, perhaps there to help the BBC sell the show elsewhere?

I'll try it again next week but so far not very good. The formula was getting stale anyway and doesn't work at all with these guys.

I never did like the old Top Gear, the format should have been refreshed five years ago.

SIARPC total rubbish. Not a big Clarkson fan either, EXCEPT for his war documentaries which were first class.

Have not watched Evans YET, but I think I know what to expect...not hopeful.

Bring back Chris Goffey and William Woollard.

I've seen Le Blanc referred to as the 'unknown yank' on a couple of occasions on.

Very big and clever. Very witty.

Only comparison I can make so far is that it's Two and a Half Men with Ashton Kutcher when you're used to watching Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen.
It's like watching repeats of Two and a Half Men knowing Charlie Sheen has AIDS.

Just not the same.

Evans - Waaay to hyper, trying too hard and shouted all the way through.
Le Blank - Dull, lacked charisma, wooden, looked awkward and didn't fit.

Format - yes good, as it was before. BUT so hard to watch with the irritating duo.

The BIGI - Why TF does everything in Britain push that dreadful British rip-off??! Totally sold out to BMW

Shall I watch more?? - Probably. I like cars, and the programme format. But I struggle with the presenter Duo. Not my old TG excited for every episode situation. Had even forgot it was on and nearly missed it yesterday!

No fan of Evans, gave it a chance. Much worse than expected.

Doubt I'll be back.

Watched both shows before work this morning and I guess they were OK'ish. Can't stand the ghetto hand shake business where they pull in for a forced hug kinda thing. The stuff with the 3 wheelers and the Corvette with guns on was all a bit old TG, but like a poor copy. I don't want to just give it a hard time but I do hope it'll improve. A lot.

I cannot stand the ginger git!! Everything about him from his penchant for stupid glasses to non-stop yelling was nauseating. The yank should be the main presenter as others have said, & Evans should be banished to a desert island....
The show was akin to a fake Chinese iStore: weirdly similar, but a pale imitation.
Looks like another Amazon Prime subscription here too.

WTF were the bosses at the BEEB thinking? I feel like I've been cheated out of my license fee!

Disappointed that so much was the same. BBC probably trying not to loose too much of the magic formula but forgetting the formula was mostly about the people. Putting new people in the same set with the same features is going to draw too many comparisons.

I watched the BBC 3 extra gear thing this morning and have to say I enjoyed that more. Chris Harris is a natural, I like the news, the technical review of him in the Arial, the Sabine bit in her racing Porsche and her wild house. The Rory guy is too 'yoof' for my tastes but I suppose it has to cater for all. If this was the main show, it would have been better! Still car themed but with its own identity.

I feel a bit for CE on the main show, big shoes to fill, but agree with others, it isn't a radio one road show, no need to shout at the audience and gee them up window twangy style as if you're in the pantomime. Let them laugh at you being funny, not because you tell them to laugh. If you're not cleverly funny then you're the wrong guy.

MLB was better than expected.

I watched it and will watch it again next week. CE needs to bin the stupid boots and calm down a bit. MLB -too early to judge. Sabine - if she was a he there is no chance he would have got the job.

Reliant section was crap, Blackpool section was dire. Jeep/LR test had potential but the story lost its way I thought and what on earth were the Brownlees doing there?

4/10.

I thought the Aeriel clip the closest to the old days. Some funny comments from Le Blanco. The Reliant clip was too copycat. Re Monseur Evans - what's with his dress sense?! yikes i could smell his jeans from west london.

I was really impressed with the BBC3 show and wished that the Wilman era TG had done that, there must have been so many outtakes and arty shots that didn't make the final edit that would still be worth seeing.

I thought Matt was good on his own, but Evans was far too hyper. This show goes out on a Sunday, not a Friday night and he has the wrong screen persona for this time slot. Either the BBC should have created a show around his persona, in a time slot to suit, or they should have got a different primary presenter in. If the BBC are keeping close to the Wilman era format of set piece films, adventures and SIARPC interviews then I'd like to see what Matt & Sabine could do on their own without Chris. That said, I would like to see what show Chris would have come up with with a brief of car show which is anything but Top Gear, no Stig, no track, no "love taps" between cars. This show smacked too much of trying to recreate the formula for Coke or KFC when all you have to go on is the final tase in the mouth.

The other thing I missed was the production values and filmography. The BBC through their wildlife work have access to so many skilled people capable of doing so much better than we saw, so why didnt they bring them in.

I found myself looking at my watch too many times, not a good sign.
Aside from agreeing with what has been said about Evans, he just doesn't know much about cars, especially in relation to JC and this showed in his poor driving skills and pointing out the Mini 'did a little bit of a skid' when it was sideways coming out of a corner.
I generally don't like Meerkans, but Leplonk seemed ok.
There should be less Evans and he should be put on Prosak, more Schmidt.

Settled down to watch it on iplayer, got half way through the Viper bit and turned off.

Yes, Evans is shouty and annoying, but I could have coped with that if the content had been any good. It wasn't. Key moment for me was the "we'll stick the brakes on and let the other car past" - signposted, scripted and dull and obviously stupid from the moment it was mentioned. Contrast with the old show where you just watched and thought after a stunt that it looked a bit scripted, as of course it was.

It's true, Evans can't drive and talk at the same time. Maybe he'll learn how to do this.
