Didn't even notice that!
Here it is conspicuous by it's prominent central position, it was the sword Ned picked up to deal the final blow - https://youtu.be/MgFPVae1Cb8?t=89
Notice what was on the sword's pommel?

Jon & Sam's swords are valaryan steel, and as such kill the WW (& the 4 Night Kings?) which is why I think attention was drawn to it.

I don't recall Lightbringer being forged from valaryan, none of the histories mention that either, just that it was forged from steel and burns radiating with heat
talking of fatboy - he took his father's sword (and deservedly so!), however I would have expected his old man (and brother?) to be on them like a rabid dog(s) especially as they were both reputed to be awesome hunters...

Oh right, we had already worked that out. hehe

Interesting snippet I read today - the Azor Ahai prophecy suggests the Prince that was Promised would be born under a 'bleeding star' - Ned was holding Dawn, made from the material from a falling star, dripping blood, in the ToJ scene...

Me too, that's one of my disappointments. I fully expected them to declare Sansa Queen of the North as living heir.

Wonder what will happen when Bran's found to be alive?
I suppose in Westeros law Bran is the actual heir to Winterfell. King of the North seems to something taken or given more than inherited.

I don't see a shortage of castles and titles to share out amongst the surviving victors.

Jon knows Bran is alive (avoiding Theon's mentalism) because Sam told him although he doesn't know what's happened since of course.

Doesn't Jon have a fairly legitimate claim to 'everywhere' being half Targ, half Stark?

Great last couple of episodes... It will be missed for the better part of a year frown

Yeah, I was expecting Daddio to at least hunt, and try to fk piggy up...but erm...no...maybe it'll be dealt with next year, or another plotpoint ignored?

Seemly likely to become family knowledge when Bran returns. Bran could be discrete about that part and only tell Jon, but I expect the broad story will be told to both Sansa and Jon. Also how much will he say about the backstabbing, if anything? He was shocked by that, but Jon will know better than to be hugely shocked by the reality of battle; Sansa and Arya would now be pleased at one more dead enemy.

I don't see them using that information to make a claim because who in the 7 Kingdoms is going to believe (them) Bran?

I see them using it as knowledge to guide some future action, such as Jon proving himself to Danny by 'taming' one of her dragons.

Anyone else think Euron is going to hook up with Cersei? Gives her a big fleet and him more chance at revenge

There were already Tyrell and Dornish ships in Danys fleet according to the banners

I don't think Bran is going to affect the throne to be honest.

He has already accepted his fate as the three-eyed raven; I imagine he will eventually meet up with Jon/Sansa but will keep out of 'The Big Game' and just slink off and find a tree to meld with, potentially the one at Winterfell.

Good point, if he essential renounces his rights in that way, this brings us back to Sansa as Lady of Winterfell and Jon as King of the North and potentially King of Westeros.

As a political marriage Danny can't really do better than a Dragon Rider.

Nothing new to Preston followers, but worth repeating. Their children would ensure at least one more generation of dragons and riders and if the Riding/Warging is the same genetic trait as some believe also hatching. That would mean Sansa could be a hatcher as well. Even if not the same genetic trait, then warging and dragon riding in the same dynasty makes for potent combination.

Wondering if we've seen any sign of fire resistance in Starks, can't recall any.
