I went on Saturday.

I definitely enjoyed it.

However, it started to fall into a trap very quickly of "close up on an actors face... oh yeah there's a giant monster behind them/in their binocular view/reflection in their camera type thing in the next shot.

From me, 7/10.

There's a post credit scene, but I didn't know about it so I walked out.

ETA - I also liked that there wasn't an underlying romantic story to distract from the main action. Sure, you could imagine that Hiddleston was going to give Brie Larson a good rutting, but if so, it was left to your imagination.

I liked it, kept things simple, no love story, felt like an older film, maybe like something from the 80s/90s. I liked it. Couple of good jumps in it, well balanced film imho

Its a 12A and the screening I went to had a lot of youngers teens in, good couple of ewww moments too for them, nothing to gory and most of the violence was 'fantasy' ie monsters fighting. CGI was good and the fighting was very wrestling style and wasn't blurry or complicated and you could see what was going on.

4/5 from me

Saw it with my son last night. He loved it.

I liked the scenery and effects but did not care about the characters, even the pretty girl.

Bit bored really.

7.5/10 for me.

Loved the soundtrack and enjoyed the nods to 'nam films, although by the 3rd/4th close-up of a sunset it was a bit 'just get on with it'.

Anyone catch the post-credits scene?

A huge Gorilla with bloated trapezius muscles like a WWE wrestler. Not really anything like the (any) original, just an excuse for some average cgi.

Watched this the other night.

Yet another film based on the stupidity of the characters in it.

I mean, come on. The helicopter bit at the beginning was stupid. Even more so was the commander/captain/whatever demanding they go through the most dangerous part of the island to get someone who is dead.

The big nasty creatures were also stupid. How the hell does something like that with only two limbs be so destructive? It reminded me of a very big, angry tadpole.

I found it amazing that the civilisation the downed pilot lived with were protected by a large, pointy wooden fence.

I understand that to enjoy these films you need to take your brain out and pop it down beside you. Yes, I also understand that they are fiction. However, some of the stupidity on show really derails things.

It was worth a watch, but definitely not worth bothering with again.

Where did all the helicopters come from?

I could only see 6 on the deck of the ship, but there must have been 10-12 flying in formation thru the storm?

I know I know, not the first thing you'd pick holes in for this film but it bugged me a fair bit!

I noticed that too, but forgot to mention it above. hehe

I like the way they decided to fly through an electrical storm too.

How is uncle Kong getting on? Sorted out his anger issues?

And the way they see a giant lizard and immediately think to shoot it rather than fly away in the opposite direction to at least sit down, say "WTF?" and come up with a plan.
