Look at the windscreen pillars, headrests, and shape of dash it reminds me a lot of an E24 6 series BMW, but the bonnet scoop doesn't fit that,

I'm going with Citroen CX, with some sort of scoop on the bonnet.

Yeah the stag is featured quite heavily in the film it was a blue one his car is white. The badge on the bonnet looks like a chevrolet but its based in the UK in the 70's did they sell them over here at that time?

It could well be a CX though.

100% definitely a CX GTi turbo, with an aftermarket scoop on the cabin air intake.

If the film's based in the '70s, then anachronism time - because the petrol turbo wasn't launched until 1985, and no other CX had the T on the bonnet.

You can just about make out the 'T', hood bulge and vent where the black scoop has been placed on this image.

CX GTi Turbo 2 seems to have that scoop if the picture here:

Is anything to go by.

It's aftermarket. Popular in the '70s, when early CXs had even worse ventilation than later ones.
