Never used them myself, but have heard this is the sort of thing MSL do.
I think they are in the Midlands.
They have done a fair few c63's so im sure would be able to help

It's easier to drop the engine straight out of the E/S/SL55 AMG & dropping it in as the hard work has already been done, it's a lot of work you'll see around 440-480bhp if you decide to use your engine & you're probably looking at around 10k to do it right.

I thought the SLK55 AMG was FI out of the box?

(Is that the sound of a parrot whooshing)

SL 500 AMG is FI, SLK is normally aspirated.

To venture another solution, why not sell the car and buy an SL55? I can't help thinking you'd spend a great deal of money on the car, and whilst it should / may be a touch quicker in a straight line, you'll limit its appeal when you want to sell it on.

Except I don't like the SL it's too big to throw about (reason I sold my DB9) SLK is far more fun on country lanes etc.
Been guaranteed minimum of 510hp with anything up to 550 achievable & with car thus size that should be great fun. (Currently running 382hp)

Thanks, every day's a learning day etc.
Is the SLK55 engine the same as in the confusingly named late CLS500 (W219)?

No that's a different engine again.

SKG Performance would appear to be the Kleemann agents in the UK

Might be kinder to the resale value. I must admit I've not really felt it wanting in the power department personally but I guess it will be fun as you say.

Build it you'll have smiles for miles plus it'll be a bit of a sleeper, well as much of a sleeper as an AMG can be.

Have a look at this one done in the states not a SLK but the same engine

Up until 2010 the N/A 5.5 was 5439cc 360-370bhp in 2012 the SLK got the 5.5 (5461cc) that had been in the CLS since 2006 but with an extra 30bhp due to different pistons cams porting etc

I'll be clean shaven from now on. I don't think there's room in a beard for all these variations!

How about some nice headers, exhaust work and a eurocharged remap? That should put you at 400-410bhp and the same/similar torque and an awesome noise.

What age is the SLK? Im assuming its a R171, and not a 5.5 R172.

May well do that first as £9k is a bit steep for supercharger.
It's a R171 2009

The engine doesn't really like to be supercharged.

Even just a remap can make a nice difference..... A nice 25-30 through most of the rev range. Should see you in the 380bhp mark.

Should be plenty in a SLK hehe. Supercharging would be mental and very expensive, by the time you are done it wouldn't be miles away from what the car is worth.

Manifolds X-Pipe & a Map will certainly get you going in the right direction as will a gearbox map I use Weistec for this & the results are very good, then you could add some cams these give the car an even better top end but they aren't cheap & although I have some fitted you have to be really wanting them considering the overall cost.

Had the X pipe done 30 minutes after collecting it.
I'll look into where Weistec are thanks.
