There were a few callbacks to other episodes in this that were obvious enough for me to notice hehe . The tech they were using is a military version of Entire history of you, with the glazed over eyes and little silver remote, and the song the female soldier sang was Anyone who knows what love is from 15 million merits. Good story, and as black mirror does, you can see it happening for real if this stuff did exist.

This was a good one, and if it was spun off as a sci fi police series, I'd be fine with that. The idea of this one was great, taking the online hate campaigns to something that kills people, very BM again, and the journalist was totally a version of Katie Hopkins hehe .

The song at the end with the 'tired are your splendid soldiers' line didn't come up as anything on Shazam, so after a bit of googling, I found it as 'Fall Into Me' by Alev Lenz, and the song is here on SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/mannersmcdade/fall-into-me-...

Well I've watched them all, I'm not sure how to feel. They didn't do it for me in the way the earlier series did. Maybe just too polished? (If that makes sense)

San Junipero was very well planned and my favourite I think.

I always like the little futuristic type touches, the Range Rover with 4 seats on the back in episode 6 etc.

Watched Shut Up and Dance last night - man that reveal was brutal. All the way through the episode I was thinking "what's the big deal? Teen masturbates to porn, stop the presses!" then the reveal came and it was a bit of a gut punch. I both like and hate the way the episode makes you really sympathise with the boy throughout, then turns it on its head and asks the question of the audience whether or not any empathy for a pedophile is justified. It re-colours the whole interaction he has with that little girl too. Ugh.

Of all the episodes I've seen so far this felt the closest to present day reality. Although it has shades of White Bear about it, White Bear always felt a bit fantastical in both premise and execution. This on the other hand I could believe could happen right now. frown
Just watched that one. Yes to everything you said.
Another case of things in Black Mirror being very real : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38150313

Watched no. 4 tonight, San Junipero.

Different to what's gone before, but still Black Mirror, somehow. No real big twist, just the story moving on and dropping hints to what was happening as it went. I got the feeling there was some kind of Second Life or VR thing fairly early on, but the way it was done was good, and made a much happier hour of TV than no.3 last night hehe
Holly fk. Cried like a baby. One of the best bits of TV I've ever seen. So uplifting. I'll never listen to Belinda Carlisle quite the same again.

Aside: the girl that played Yorkie has been cast in the new bladerunner film.
Oh yes, San Junipero is the best thing I've watched on TV this year.

I wish I hadn't read people saying San Junipero was so amazing, as I went in with expectations it didn't quite match.

They were all thought provoking and entertaining but I think the #DeathTo episode was my favourite.

I have to agree, I enjoyed the first and last episodes of Series 3 the most, with perhaps the #DeathTo edging in front. The first episode was brilliant satire though, I thought.

Series 4 is on December 29th. There's a trailer for each of the 6 episodes, and a general one.

Crocodile - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-NCySETRIc
Arkangel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yef_HfQoBd8
Hang the DJ - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5N_Tq1EtRQ
USS Callister - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgTtyfgzGc0
Metalhead - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xejjA2AFO5I
Black Museum - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV0J3Bq3BIc

General trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ELQ6u_5YYM

Looking good, but something stood out for me in the Black Museum trailer 13 seconds in and 19 seconds in wink

Awesome.

It can't be as good as the last series though, can it?

I had never watched these first time round, and on a whim watched them on Netflix. However due to my stupidity i hadn't realised seasons 1 and 2 were on netflix too, and thought Netflix only had season 3, so watched it first. They're all so good.

I've got season 1 ep 3 to watch, all of season 2 to watch and the last of season 3 to watch.

Some excellent television and story telling, i am not a huge fan of Charlie Brookers politics but he is an excellent storyteller/writer/producer

Just finished watching episode 1, the basic premise has been done before twice in Black Mirror and before that in Tales of the Unexpected but they did a real decent job of adding a different twist to it.

Watched 3 so far.

Callister was a very good one. I was trying to work out from the trailer how they get a Star Trek spoof into the Black Mirror near future world. Makes sense now biggrin . Plus points for the voice cameo at the end smile

Arkangel. On first watch, average with a good ending. All seemed a bit preachy

Crocodile. Holy mother of fk that one is up there with White Bear for me yikes Not seeing the memory investigator get done in, just hearing the thuds from outside... oof!
