I have a thing for Darcy, and Oti (hope she lasts a few weeks longer this year) and Louise (who is still absolutely lovely) and most of the other ladies are alright too.

Should be a good series, a lot of very likeable people on it. Thought both Ed Balls and Rinder seemed like decent chaps, Rinder is quite funny.

Ore is my early fave to win, with Claudia and Will Young. Rutherford will be crap and Louise looked a bit awkward in that first dance so hope she gets better..

Going for an early prediction of the the top three in no particular order!! Will Young, Claudia Frangipane and Laura Whitmore. I expect Louise Rednapp to go quite far in the series as well.

I suspect she will, like Louis Smith did, throw in a load of fancy gymnastic moves which will be praised by Craig but criticised by Len.

I confess I don't really know who any of them are, apart from Anastasia, Leslie Joseph, Ed Balls, Louise Redknapp, and Will Young.

Judge Rinder made me laugh out loud several times though, and could be a real hoot. Likewise Melvin Odoom.

we really enjoyed the opener - the OH insisted on a game of match the couples...

I lost unsurprisingly and it cost me a breakfast....I did get 5 though....

anyways I expect Bob Rinder to be hilarious and I'm looking forward to the series....

I think Leslie Joseph is going to be a case of "the spirit is willing but the flesh is not able" - she is 70 after all (and that's not being ageist - even Craig has an artificial hip and he's much younger than her). I bet she'll be absolutely dogged in giving it her all though. She's got a lot of pizazz and presence, so that will help her.

Ed Balls is clearly the token duffer and I doubt he'll last long. But we'll see.

I hope Oti stays in longer this time - she really is stunningly beautiful.

Oh and Pasha, cos I have a bit of a crush on him.

Yes Pasha is lovely. I feel sorry for Anton, getting Lesley Joseph. I know he had a good one last year with Katie Derham, but they rarely pair him with anyone with a real chance. And Lesley seems quite irritating as well as having no hope of winning.

With this being Len's last series, Anton has to be a dead cert to replace him as a judge - he'd certainly be a logical and popular choice.

I agree that he does almost always seem to get the, how shall we put this, the less athletic and capable ladies who have less chance of winning. But he was the obvious choice for Lesley, to the extent that it would have been somewhat of a shock had they not been paired.

But could you really see Anton being paired with the younger women? That would look odd.

No, not really. That was my point though.

Laura Whitmore got things off to a good start tonight with a performance that would have earned an easy 8 later on in the series, but as it's only the first show - 5,6,7 and 7.

No-one from last night's show will be going home early. Judge Rinder - proper comedy, Anastacia - wind your neck in love.
