Strictly Come Dancing 2016 - official thread
Discussion
Just watched last week. It was definitely time to go for the judge. I thought Claudia really got in to her dance and I liked the performance. Oksana really struggled to keep the tears back, that was touching, plus I think Joanne realised how close they were/are to potentially the end for them on the last sign off part of the show.
I don't mind Ore, but the choreography was just boring so I am not surprised to see him in the bottom three when the others had much more vibrant routines. As Karen Hardy said on ITT a while ago, you need to put some wow in there, especially right at the end to make it stick out in the viewer's memory. From here on as they are all so good, it will come down to the choreography without one of them really cocks up. A lot of the luck will be based on the types of dances they have from here on in.
I think the final will be:
Danny (for the win)
Louise
Claudia, but only just over Ore.
Can't believe it is nearly over already

Claudias rumba (sp?) didn't flow from one movement to another so unlikely to get a great score.

No, Claudia not the best one so far tonight - has to be Louise or Danny (isn't Oti incredible !)
I never watch Danny when they dance, just Oti, she is fantastic with those Cyd Charise legs! Ace-T said:
Just can't warm to Danny, glad Darcy marked him down.
Same. I can appreciate his dancing, his 2nd dance was really amazing, but he's just very unemotional and lifeless. Especially compared to the other three who are all very warm, emotional and genuinely likable folks.Claudia did a brilliant quickstep, her rumba was good but not great. Also agree that Louises samba (?) Was a bit awkward or unnatural.
Anyone could go really although I'd be amazed if Danny did. Shame, I'd like to see all 4 in the final!

Louise emotional? Give over. Tess Daly has more personality than she does!
Guess we'll disagree then! Louise is charming, bashful, sweet and warm and I think very likeable. She's also pretty characterful in a lot of her dances.I personally find Danny really wooden, theres just nothing there to make me like him however consistently excellent he is as a dancer. He barely smiles let alone laughs or looks uncomfortable or dissapointed etc. Just the same dead-eyed look.
Having said that Oti is utterly wonderful in every way so quite happy for him to stay in (which he clearly will)

Anyone else think Ore was overmarked? Didn't like his AT at all and he's top of the leaderboard. Seems a bit fishy to me.
No, I don't think he was overmarked. Indeed I thought the modern interpretation of the Argentine Tango, and his dancing of it, was one of the best modern 'reinterpretations' of a usually traditional executed dance, we've seen. Shows what I know, I liked Claudia the most and Ore the least. Didn't get his Argentine Tango at all, it seemed as though he just stood there and Jo did all the dancing but like I say: what do I know? I think you could through a blanket over all four, they all deserve to be in the final and whichever one dips out it'll be a real shame that they're not there.
Still think Danny will win, but who the other two finalists will be is anyone's guess.

I did feel this a bit aswell. It had all the drama, and good music and sharpness that I like in a tango but i felt that I was watching Jo's legs flicking about (no bad thing) whilst he basically stood still like a big wooden statue and he just didn't show enough technique for me, it look simple compared to others dances.Seems to me it's almost as if the BBC are desperate for their employees to do well - they usually go further than their talent warrants. Not saying Ore doesn't deserve to be in the final, but there's no way his Argentine Tango was a 39.
In the dance off tonight, which dance do they do - do they get to choose themselves or do the judges choose? Claudia and Danny in the dance off, Danny to go through I reckon.
