If there was a xmas special on the BBC and you had to pick 8 bakers from all the series so far, who would you have on?

Not necessarily the best bakers or the winners of each series.

I don't get how Love have got the 'format'. Surely the only difference between Masterchef and GBBO is the tent and the fact it's baking rather than food?

The way I see it, the BBC just have to have the courage to launch 'Masterbake' for the full entendre.
The Masterchef format is a knock-out tournament with heats, quarter finals and so on whereas GBBO is a weekly elimination format. Love Productions used the same format to make the Great British Sewing Bee.

Relations between them and the BBC were said to have been strained by the BBC ripping off the format to make the Great British Painting Challenge and Hair, which in fairness did come across as cashing in on the success of GBBO. They settled out of court.

Yes and she uses her mouth to express too much. She said 'TART' with no context - funny but odd.

It was in relation to Mary's comment about the flavour of lime coming through, as in it had a tartness. The shows editing clearly contributes to making her look like a right sort, but really I'm not complaining.

Hair was pretty much a GBBO style rip off according to SWMBO, I didn't see it.

The painting challenge had no connection to my mind with GBBO. Other than amateurs trying to do something, judged by 'professionals' with the show hosted by a 'celeb'. Other than that format completely different. To try and make that connection Love were just being mardy clowns imo. Possibly trying to engineer a situation where relations were soured, which is the sort of thing greedy clowns might do to justify ultimately breaking convention and go for the money.

Anyway an ancillary question, filming schedules. Is there any overlap between filming and screening schedule? We wondered last night when miss pouty showed up with a freshly scrubbed appearance. Not just the lippy toned down, maybe someone has had a word?

filmed for ten weeks starting in April so she can't be reacting to press coverage.

My wife, who was a TV make-up artist, said that she was wearing the most phenomenal amount of make-up.

There is also speculation that C4 will replace Berry with Cherish Finder. If you don't know who she is, and why would you, executive pastry chef at the Langham, and was one of the judges on BBC2 Bake Off Creme de la Crème. That was a show hosted by Tom Kerridge for professional pastry teams from top hotels and restaurants. Quite frankly on that show she was an obnoxious cow; there's a difference between being a tough judge and just relying on being rude. So another reason not to watch.
That would be horrible to watch. She was awful on that show.
