Does anyone have films they could watch pretty much weekly, but aren't necessarily their favourite films? It seems a bit of a contradiction, but I would probably say Jaws is my favourite film of all time, but it's not one I would choose to watch often, probably annually at the most. I love everything about it, but like, say, Saving Private Ryan, it's not a film I would choose to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon, it's almost as if I like to rediscover it after a long break.

Then there are films that probably wouldn't be in my top 10 yet I could happily just sit and watch every month or so, Dazed and Confused, Wall-E, Tremors, The Goonies. I can breeze through them, dip in and out and never, ever get bored of them even if I watched them five days ago.

Spirited Away is my favourite Ghibli film, but I've not watched it for years. I've watched Ponyo many times since, it's just effortlessly enjoyable.

Star Wars would be another good example, Empire over Jedi all day long, but I've got to want to watch Empire, where as if Jedi is on its very, very unlikely that I'll switch it off, particularly the fantastically paced final third cutting between Endor, the Death Star and the space battle.

Tremors is a good shout. Wouldn't say it's one of my favourites but something I never get tired of watching.

Jurassic Park is another one for me. Great film. Not one of my absolute favourites, but always find myself watching it when it's on TV.

A lot of classic 'Arnie' films work for this too.....Conan, Red Heat, Commando, Last Action Hero.....all films I can watch over and over.

Also wanted to add.....any Bond film. No matter how bad some of the older ones were.....can't stop watching them when they're on. Worse than Crack Cocaine those Bond films hehe

anything clint, arnie, most tom cuise stuff, die hard trilogy, 80's ste, grisham films, shawshank, lock stock, fight club, usual suspects, most kung fu, All watchable a million times over. Anything that's more brain out entertainment than plot / suspense works well for repeat viewing.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Terrible, puerile humour, just laugh my self sick at this POS.

Feeling blue, stick this on and disengage brain.

Back when we were young and without responsibilities we went to see this 7 times at the cinema! Impressive considering it wasn't on for long and it was a one hour drive to our nearest multiplex at the time.

I think I could still quote the entire film word for word. The Tea Party documentary (on the Clerks Blu-Ray) is well worth a watch if you get a chance.

I have no interest in Kevin Smith's films now but still listen to Fatman on Batman and Hollywood Babylon podcasts religiously, that man can sure tell a story.

I seem to watch Predator, Tremors, Goonies and Enter the Dragon every time they're on without being bored.

I like the first two Bourne films too, I can watch them over.

Unlike something like perhaps the Shawshank Redemption, great film, but not something you'd sit and watch if you've seen it in the last few years I suspect.

Bourne films for me too. Also, Braveheart and Dances with Wolves.

I'm also quite partial to Notting Hill...

As said, any Bond film. Full Metal Jacket, Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball run, Italian job, any one of the dollar trilogy and any 90's Tarantino.

I'm sure there's more

A bizarre one for me because I absolutely detest football violence, think they're comically unrealistic, poorly acted and always centered around a London firm, but whenever there's a football hooliganism film on the TV - be it Football Factory, Green Street, Cass, The Firm etc I can't help but watch it.

Dunno why as invariably I end up wondering why I bothered with such tosh, but bother I do, every time!

Also Jurassic Park 2, it's not even the best of the JP films and i will watch it every time.

Cannonball Run, Smokey & the Bandit - always look out for these when they are on and can watch them over and over easily. By no means favourites, don't own them on dvd or anything like that, but just so entertaining none the less. Oh and Ghostbusters (the original one..).

edit - and for some reason Last Man Standing.
