Good morning,

Spotted some very nice cars on the way to work this morning in Dumfries south west Scotland.

Lamborghini Huracan
Aston Martin GT8
Focus rs
Golf gti clubsport
Alfa Romeo Giulia
Amg coupe
911 R
M4 GTS
570s
R8
NSX

Rather surreal on a wet Tuesday morning in traffic. Not sure if anybody has any more information, i was guessing it was Evo car of the year?

thanks

Definitely some kind of group test. I wouldn't be surprised if it was ECOTY.

M4 GTS though.. eugh.

What would be everyone's pick then? (To drive not leave in the garage to make money!)

From that list? The NSX or the Alfa. Not driven either but they will always be low sales and ultra niche.

GT8. The noise is not of this earth.

The gt8 and the amg sounded amazing even in traffic.

Fairly sure all of them have computers controlling vast amounts of what they do....

I'll have the 991R please or the Aston if that's not available wink

Reminded me of a motorbike trip with my late father to Skye, in 2009. Sunshine had turned to pissing rain (Scotland, natch), and we passed a parking space with a tasty V12 Vantage parked up, then an Artega GT and Noble M600 passed by at speeds not quite recommended on bumpy, wet roads. Obviously didnt realise it was ECOTY 2009 at the time, but brightened up a fairly damp day on the bikes!

P.S. Oh, it would be a toss-up between the Giulia and NSX if I had to pick one of this year's offerings.

If that is ECOTY, I'm surprised there's no M2.

The 911R is the one I'd take, and also the one I'd expect to win.

I'm also surprised at the lack of M2, last year they had both the 911 GT3RS and the Cayman GT4, so it isn't because they already have the M4 GTS that the M2 has been ruled out.

I haven't driven any of them, but from the reviews I've read this year, I reckon 911 R first place and 570S second. It'll be interesting to see how the new Alfa does on UK roads. spin
