Blurb: Robbie Coltrane stars as Paul Finchley, a much-loved, ageing comedian, accused of a rape dating back to the 90s in this powerful new drama series, with Julie Walters.

This is the first major role RC's played in seven years and looks to be very good. It's a four part series starting on Tuesday at 9pm on Ch4.

Seen the ads for this.

Is it an amalgam of the issues we've had of the stars from the 70s/80s?

A 4 part drama series, inspired by the Operation Yewtree type of investigations!?

Robbie Coltrane is usually a good watch anyway!

Much as I like Robbie Coltraine this program is absolute crap exactly what you might expect from ch4 in 2016 - nonsense.

So, going from one extreme to the other, is it going to be a Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris or Bill Roache?

Looked quite promising from the trailers but agreed, it was a bit crap.
Coltrane and Julie Walters both very good as one would expect but the whole thing came across as a bit....predictable?
I also couldn't help but roll my eyes and sigh a sigh of disappointment when they rounded off with the increasingly common "If you've been affected by any of the issues raised in this program..." shizzle.
If you've been affected by any of the issues raised in this program you'll probably be avoiding it anyway.

Not watched it, but brave of Coltrane to take the role on, plenty of loonies in the UK who can't tell drama from reality who'd believe he really is another Savile and would give him abuse if they saw him.

Award bait.

And I think they'd like Robert Webb, Alan Carr, or Frank Skinner to present them their BAFTA.

I watched it and thought it was good. Robbie Coltrane looks to be suffering for the weight he carries. Here's a brief synopsis of the first episode:

Robbie Coltrane plays half of a popular comedy double act which is very famous. Tim McInnerny plays the partner. One day, out of the blue, the police knock on his door with a search warrant and accuse him of rape some 23 years ago. His wife (Julie Walters) is not happy. She has known of his many infidelities over the years and this is a step too far. She consigns him to sleep on the sofa. The police found a load of violent porn on his phone. The police 'leak' the story of his arrest to the press as a fishing exercise to see if any more claims are made against him. He has hired a hot shot lawyer recommended to him by a friend who is using a rough looking ex detective as his investigator. He also has an adult daughter who is suffering from mental illness to contend with.

I fell asleep with 15 minutes remaining.

Is it worth watching the last quarter on catch up ? On the bit I did see, I'm thinking probably not.

Did somebody combine 2 threads here?

I'll reserve judgement on the series until I see more.

But, the award ceremony scene, almost killed it for me before we'd even got going!
