Does anyone know if there's a way to buy/subscribe to all the Bond films but streaming?

I can buy a DVD or blu ray set for peanuts but I've no desire to have to buy a blu ray or DVD player.

All the streaming options seem to want around a tenner per film.
Amazon seem to have control over them now. They rotate in and out of being available on Prime. It's annoying, like Disney with their vault, just leave them available all the time

Nolan would be great. Tenet and Inception are great auditions for a Bond movie, and it would be great to see him give Bond the same type of reboot treatment he gave Batman.

From 2017:

I'd imagine that agreeing the revenue split and production control/independence would be the biggest obstacle. I'd expect Nolan would want to have a fair amount of autonomy, whereas Eon are used to producing in-house, and I doubt they'd see an overwhelming reason to surrender the sort of creative control that Nolan may demand.
Agreed

I happened to see a suggestion today that Cillian Murphy is being touted as a potential Bond - he and Nolan have a special relationship, could be pretty good!

Also, I love the concept of returning to the Cold War.

In fact. I really enjoyed the story of the Moonraker novel, (the film not so much).

With the pandemic, it shouldn't be surprising there is a longer wait between Craig and the next Bond.
The timing of the pandemic is mere co-incidence. As has been said several times in this thread - the studio with the rights to produce cinematic and TV James Bond changed hands in 2022 after NTTD was released, but EON knew parent studio MGM was up for sale a year before NTTD started filming in 2019.

They were fully aware that a change of management was coming so took their last chance to make a film that fitted their vision (while still ticking enough DEI and ESG boxes to qualify for corporate funding).

Whatever comes next might have the Bond branding on it, but ain't going to be Bond in the traditional sense (if Babs and Michael let it get made at all).

Media tittle-tattle.

Nolan has outright stated in no uncertain terms that he is not linked with any Bond project

Pure bks.

Anatomy of a Bond 26 rumour.

Not only that, Murphy is more suited to being a Bond villain than being Bond.

Whats the cost to buy them ? I had a look when bhie put his post up but couldnt seem to find pricing.
The amusing thing is you can get them on DVD/ Blu Ray for reasonable cost but getting them via other methods is expensive

That is the whole point of the subscription/streaming business model. You never own the content and have to keep paying to watch it again.

Even if you could 'buy' it, your ability to keep watching it relies on access to the streamer's servers which requires a monthly fee.

If you want a permanent copy without the need to use physical media and a player you still need to buy the physical media and then exercise your right to a digital download. Disc packaging used to come with the access codes for the downloads, but there are instructions online on how to retrieve them if you have lost them or didn't receive one.

PS. The right to a digital download does not apply in all countries.

Varies.
NTTD £14 buy/ £3,5 rent
Dr No (and most of the others) £9/£3,5

Not sure that is entirely accurate. I bought a Hammer Dracula and whilst it's true I have to access it via Amazons servers (via my firecube) I don't pay a monthly amazon subscription.
The digital download used to be ultraviolet -wel thats the one on the back of most of my bought Bond onesd

Fair point, but it is still possible for the provider to 'pull' your access because they change their business model, or they lose the rights to some content so can no longer host it ( as recently happened with the Sony Playstation streaming service).

The internet is reporting that the role is going to be offered to Aaron Taylor Johnson over the next day or two.
No idea on the accuracy of this notion but I'm here spreading the rumour further. thumbup

Aaron Taylor Johnson is a Brit actor aged 33
Not a massively known name.
He is the son of Brian Johnson the singer from AC/DC and Elizabeth Slocombe a British actress who appeared in some British situation comedy shows.
It seems that the producers are going with a relatively unknown actor who could do a few years in the role.
One of the ideas I read is that he can appear in a white suit. He would actually be playing the ghost of Bond and only be seen by M who would talk to him quite naturally.

I saw Bond films are on ITV X now, but didn't see if it's the free version or the subscription one

Was in a Marvel Avengers film. And a big Christopher Nolan film. Seems to have the acting skill to become the character, rather than play a version of himself.
I would say he just the right level of experience and fame, but not yet a Hollywood superstar. That seems about right when casting bond.

Yep agree, generally known of but not massive, which seems typical when casting a new Bond, he was also in the fantastic Bullet Train.
