The best continuous action sequence from Casino Royale.

The building site to foreign embassy scene - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZxNbAwY_rk

Not many building site vehicles that are fitted with bulletproof glass either hehe

A very long time ago I was chatting to someone who reckons the stunt man did the bungee jump twice, and was paid £200k for each. I have no idea if that's true.

As a cinematic spectacle I would put the ski jump from the opening of TSWLM at the top of the list. However, since seeing the documentary about the running across the back of the crocodiles, that gets my vote for bravery.

For me, You Only Live Twice rules all the categories - bond actor, movie, theme + music, car, girl, villain, villian's lair, gadgets (little nelly, helicopter with the giant magnet on it), jokes ("he died on the job - he would have wanted it that way") - only fly in the ointment is the horrendous racism when they "convert" JB to look Japanese.

When it comes to stuntage, two sequences stand out to me:
The train sequence in Octopussy. Despite being a turkey of a film overall, this was all pre-CGI so all the wide-angle shots are real. Stuntman Martin Grace nearly died when hanging from the side of the train and hitting a piece of lineside infrastructure, shattering both his legs. The filming was going so well the shoot continued beyond the pre-recce'd section of railway.
The cable car sequence in Moonraker. Movement around the roof of the cable car meant harnesses simply weren't practical. Stuntman Richard Graydon almost learnt the hard way what an error this was.

I fully agree......that sequence alone cemented Daniel Craig as my favourite Bond.

Indeed, I watched the same, as a spectacle it cannot compete, but it's smallness is beautiful, and once you think about it, it's so fking dangerous it's unreal. The first attempt looks very ropey!! hehe

3, the twist jump from TMWTGG sans swanee whistle
They put so much effort in to actually perform that for real and then ruined it with the swanee whistle! That alone says everything about the Moore era films! Still one of my favourite films though.

Goldfinger is crap I can't understand why it's on so many people's lists, he spent most of the film in captivity doing nothing, and then saves the day by seducing a woman. Boring.
I love Goldfinger because it reminds me of Christmas. About 1999/2000 time I was 10 years old and we we're in the lakes for Christmas. On Christmas Eve I bought it on VHS in Carlisle and having woken up at 5am as an excited child on Christmas day with no-one else up I sat and watched it.

Its what some people would call a comfort film and its one of those I can watch over and over. I know its not one of the best but I think most people on here will have one that, even though a its a bit crap, they like for sentimental reasons..

Despite the DB5, Vulcan and Disco Volante, never warmed to it. Of all the Bond films to make a remake, they choose this one. 1983 remake of Goldfinger with a V8 Vantage and Edgley EA-7 Optica to replace the piper aircraft would have been ace.

Best Bond film by a 007 mile...'From Russia With Love'.

...Best pre credits.

...Baddest villain, Red Grant.

...Second baddest villain, Rosa Klebb.

...Best Bond buddie, Kerim Bey.

...The Orient Express.

...That briefcase.

...The fight in the train carriage.

...'Red wine with fish, I should have known'.

...Gorgeous Bond girl. Tatiana Romanova.

...Filming behind the two way mirror.

...The gypsy girls fight.

...The shooting of Krilenko, over the movie poster.

I could go on , but it's Strictly time.

I like Thunderball, what I don't get is the people who rate From Russia With Love as one of their favourites. To me there's nothing memorable at all about that film.

But, I also quite like Octopussy so that might say a lot about my taste in films!

+1.

I like the dark side of Bond that Daniel Craig portrayed though in recent times.
