My mate has just applied and roped me into it, see how that goes. I've a feeling once they know we are both exforces we won't get on. I've told him if we do I'll be hiding gear all over the country!

The first thing to do is either 'accidentally' lose the cameraman (so it's not your fault so you aren't binned) or find the tracker and disable it again without it being your fault). Trouble is you'll have to sign a confidentiality agreement shortly before they hand you the script.

I enjoyed the final but was sad to see the two girls get caught. All this moaning it's not real, it's TV what did you expect? "Real" would be 10 people go on the run, we can't find them, the end. Good entertainment imo, but what it really needs is Annabel Croft chasing after them in a heli with her bottom wobbling in front of the camera smile
The point is it's ridiculous to show something so obviously staged, with basic continuity gaffes, plot holes etc and portray it as a real situation. It was like watching an episode of 24 Hours after being told by C4 it's a documentary.

Only saw bits of it but could it not be the case that it's filmed as a "contest" to stay hidden and is treated as such until the contestant gets caught then at that point or later in production they film some pick ups to cover for any missing footage and to help the story along?

If that's the case the continuity department need shooting. I'm sure there were some real bits but once a suspicion of it being a fraud take hold it's hard not to spot the gaffes and then it becomes really annoying!

Have a look back earlier in the thread and you'll see that the contestants are hamstrung by rules. No amount of Escape & Evasion training is going to help you when the rules dictate you have to make contact with family, can only travel during certain scheduled hours, can't spend time hiding in sewers or other sensible hiding places.

Yep, I've told my mate, I couldn't see them being happy with my shenanigans

So If the Hunters had managed to identify the extraction point and got there before the remaining contestants, could they have just stood on the pontoon and captured them?

I wondered the same. Or what happened if they had found a boat and caught up with them once they were on the water - thats hardly the fault of the people being hunted then is it?

Weren't the 1st pair caught in this series ex-forces. Hunters reckoned they were easier to catch due to being "more predictable"

If it was me, I'd leave in a suit with a brief case, blend into crowds and hide in Brum under their noses using internet cafe's and message boards.

I'd be more curious as to the rules. Have to keep moving so can't hide out, have to use a method of public transport, have to talk to family etc etc.

As its blatantly scripted, Get unlucky that you are the ones that are designated to get caught.

Also they obviously choose the best ones who make TV, so those with personality clashes, not the most likely to be camping in the brecon beacons killing rabbits for food.

Like the 2 girls who always headed to service stations.

Imagine if when they escaped the drone pilot bloke they opted to change plan and not go to a service station.

Out of interest, where are these rules?!

Not watched any of the others but gave this ago. What a load of tripe. I know they say they have "faked" some of the powers of state but they are taking the piss.

When I worked for the police years ago if you wanted a real time fix on a mobile phone location you need CC authorisation and had to show imminent threat to life. You couldn't just triangulate some scroat because he was wanted. The "hunters" all seem a bit like a bunch of Walts who have watched the Bourne films too many times.

...not to mention the fact that when you see them running from above, you don’t see the cameraman running with them!

Joke.

Yep, after giving the new series a go, I switched off after 20 minutes. It's so contrived it's unbelievable. It had all the makings of a great programme without the unnecessary acting and BS that's made its way into this.

I think they're trying to replicate a level of surveillance slightly beyond the average copper ;-)

Apparently, they run the "real" version capturing as much footage as possible, and will then go back and essentially reenact bits that make good telly to get close ups and other angles, much like Top Gear used to with their trans-Euro races.
For all its flaws I find it quite watchable. This series seems to have been scaled back compared to the previous two though.
