For me, a toss-up between Rocky and Le Mans, with Monsieur Hulot's Holiday close behind...

Just remembered a film, recent film. It's not for everybody but this is my final answer.

Not the greatest film by any measure, but it is my favourite.

Not just because of this, the best opening credits imo ever.

Not just because the soundtrack is fantastic.

No reason at all really, but it's my favourite (beating The Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink in a 'photo finish).

A Matter Of Life And Death and It's A Wonderful Life are brilliant, but I would still pop this one in the DVD player first.
Good call. So many good things about it, not least Duncan.
Just watched it again this evening; still gets me, from the Stones tribute throughout, the picture in the gallery, the double face slap, everything about Watts, and Duncan, always Duncan biggrin

And it has a line from the Breakfast Club and one of the actors from Ferris Bueller in it for good measure.

"Here we go round the Mulberry Bush" on BFI BLursay flipside release because it captures the trials and tribulations of being a horny 18 yr old male better than any other film and includes Judy Geeson who is right on the top of my favourite actresses to have ever graced a movie screen in a lead role

"Can't buy me love" for similar reasons but in a 1980's context (my era) - want to feel 18 again - you will

"2010 Odyssey 2" IMHO the greatest sci-fi film ever made - it captures the wonder of space with a strong base in scientific fact. More believable and comprehensible than 2001 but with all of the majesty of the forumer film

"The living daylights" My favourite Bond because it was the first Bond movie to portray Bond so closely to the books and yet manages to provide all the thrills, spills and romance of the best of Bond.

"The battle of Britain" - my favourite war film ever - beautifully shot, filmed, acted and writtn while retaining a high degree of historical accuracy.

"Aliens" My favourite horror in space film

"God help the girl" A recent and little known gem - magnificent writing, music, filimg and acting - my favourite musical ever.

There's some to be going on with!
