I know it comes up every year but is now the time to mention Borden Tkachuk's interview with Stuart Baggs (RIP)

"I know what ISP is. It's an Internet Service Protocol. And that's what you're providing. It's not a telecoms operating licence. It's a protocol that allows telecoms over bandwidths."

"I've been running Alan Sugar's companies for the last 25 years, and that's why I know a little bit about technology."

What I don't understand is why they didn't cut that bit out during editing? Either they wanted Bordan to look silly or nobody in the production team realised that an ISP was also Internet Service Provider.

Good question. Incidentally it's not also an internet service provider, that's all it is. The abbreviation Borden was thinking if is IP as in IP address. smile

Can't believe they got £70k of "orders". I assume it's just theoretical, or are we going to see some giin on the shelves?
Its totally theoretical.
This task was won one year because they team promised a £8 million advertising campaign behind the product so the supermarket they were pitching to put a massive theoretical order to match the theoretical marketing budget.

Even if I don't win The Apprentice, I might get a Darwin Award.

I enjoyed the programme last night with a profile of the remaining 5.

Was most impressed with Francis but Grainne has gone up in my estimation too

I turned it off after about 15 mins - thought the narration was a bit over the top. "When Grainne was 15, her world suddenly changed..." because she was pregnant. "When Frances was 13 she suddenly discovered something that changed her life...." because she discovered her dad wasn't her real dad.

I assume if I'd carried on watching, I'd have discovered that "When Jess was 7, her childhood came to a premature end when she discovered Father Christmas isn't real".

Reading this, I'm glad I gave it a miss. Hopefully tonight's final will be more like adult content. So many programmes now made for the ADD generation.

The issues they overcame were

Grainne - Pregnant at 15
Francis - Not real dad
Courtney - Used to be fat
Alana - Brought up by hippies
Jess - Started a business with her other half, he ruined the business and left her with three kids

Well to be honest those are some pretty life changing things, certainly bigger than anything I've ever experienced.

I experienced the thing Francis did at 17, and honestly it's not that life changing.

I have watched every episode in every series and I think these are the weakest final 5 by quite a long way. There isn't one of them who appears to have much business nous. And Courtney's presentation skills are extraordinarily bad.

I would think Alan Sugar's a bit worried about his £250k this year.

I dont care who wins it.
Same thing gets said every single year. Also I suspect TV editing has made them look particularly rubbish as that seems to drive ratings.
