I'm glad she won, she seems lovely.

With the money surely this is very much something which can be pretty big. Look at crispy Creme for example. A stand in every petrol station. It's own donut cafes, mini shops in malls selling 12 donuts for something like £15.
How is cakes different, it's maybe better, everyone loves cake and nowadays people like the luxury aspect. It's not 1986 anymore, people spend loads of money on stuff like this.
The Mrs bought two cupcakes home the other day, £4 each!

Hmmm, so the boss of Amstrad has to choose a business partner between a person who churns out cheap plastic crap to sell all round the world, or somebody else.

I wonder who he'll choose?
Whatever. bangheadgetmecoat

Krispy Kreme, an overnight success, if the night started in 1937.

£250k to launch a new food brand is a drop in the ocean.

There are dozens of bakeries out there which can do what she can do - but there are also lots of bakeries going bankrupt each year.

Ferraris bakery also went under less than a decade ago.

Brace's are also closing a plant - OK, they are mainly bread producers, but they do some cake lines, too.

Maybe Lord Alan can see a gap and a niche to chase, but £250k will be burned very, very quickly in food production.

Also, the USP of Krispy Kreme is that it's an established American brand, which translates to "charge those mugs over the pond through the nose for it"

No one's queuing round the block for fking Greggs donuts, are they!

Daft question... but surely these guys aren't locked up in that house for 12 weeks? And if so what do they do for most of the week? confused

Suralan had to choose Alana or he'd have been right back at the start of his career: selling toot on the markets

They basically don't stop between tasks.

I didn't get why LS was going on about Courtney's business saying, well he's only charging between 5 and 15 pounds, just think how many units he'll have to sell.

Well just think how many more fking cakes Alana's going to have to sell then!

So a big rough cut chunk thrown in a bag is £3, now a smaller chunk in an expensive box and obviously cut with care is £?
Plus distribution and waste yadda yadda we should start a thread on Alana watch
