I don't expect we'll see the detailed planning. Either because

A) It'll spoil the actual fight episode(s), or

B) Rick will, inexplicably, be in charge, and there won't therefore be any planning

Good episode, said the wife early on, 'he's going to die'

Starting to wonder if we are getting the war this series, not even at the planning stage yet. It going to be rushed.
I'd imagine we'll see the start.

I don't think we'll see the finish.

Why finish the battle this series when we can have a cliffhanger and end the season with Negan on the brink of winning, only to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in episode 2 next season....

When will it all kick off????

I think it'll be rushed now that Sasha has gone all Leroy Jenkins.

I had hoped that Captain Mullet was playing a game, but no, hes a coward.

these past few episodes have been really disjointed and almost made up as they go along.

the comics are so much more cohesive.

she gon die

next week will be a timeline running consecutive to this week's one, I reckon, with Rick and Michonne gathering the performance artists and the sea witches (and their guns)

I spent most of that on my phone...what actually happened.

All I saw was the usual, some daft bint who was too stupid to close a fking car door while she tried to hot wire it giving a "suspense" scene. Then giving it all of 5 minutes in the look out point to take him down from safety, thinking, nah fk it i'll no give it another day i'll steam in with nil chance.

laugh Spot on.

They claimed the second half of this series was going to be explosive with a lot happening, if anything, it's been less interesting than the first half of the series.

She's supposed to be an amazing sniper, he walks out, she take the shot, bam. Done.

And she should have popped Eugene too.

I can't remember where I'm up to (not been watching). Was an avid watcher until the Negan arrival.

I'm basically saving it up so I can binge them all at once. From the chat here I'm not feeling the love, I think this is turning into Lost - you watch because you've watched it all until now so you're all-in. But it ain't great.

I am the same, have the last 6 episodes saved on my planner, but TBH, as much as I love most things zombie-related, I have no burning desire to start watching, not like I used to with the earlier series'.

For me, series opener, the phone is cast aside, any interruptions from anyone in the room is met with ssssh, and instantly put back to rewind to hear it again.

As the series goes on the phone comes out more, now its at the stage where TWD is just in the background.

I am invested now tbh, but I dont give it my full attention. If it was to finish tomorrow I wouldnt be bothered in the slightest.

terrible episode. Usually you lot moan too much but this was a piss take.

Can only presume Negan will now come and attack on of the communities and start the war on their own terms.

Was that Daryl at the end (he got there quick) or was it Dwight with Daryl's crossbow?

I must've missed that. Shows how much attention I was paying. How many episodes are left this season, it's 2 isn't it?

I guess we'll have to tune in next week to find out...

That's the thing with TWD in recent years, the story is slow at this point, they've killed as many cast as they're prepared to, we just have the odd cliff-hanger to keep us going.

I don't think this series will end the the Negan issue resolved.

Interesting. Didn't think of Dwight!

I agree with pretty much everyone - what an absolute waste of episode. The producers have come up with a formula of: Big budget start to the season, fill with nothing and induce a slow build-up with minimal budget, wait the whole season to take on inevitable bad guy, gather the troops and fight for the a big budget finale. Repeat next season with new bad guy.

Boring, predictable and sadly simply flogging a cash cow.
