He said that on the UK version too.
That wasn't in the 9pm showing - been cut out.
Strange, but a good excuse to keep recording the 2am version instead wink Not that it added much anyway since clearly, he really won't!
I watched it on catch up before it was on Fox, and began at about eight thirty. Glenn said it then.

Well I am now completely traumatised!! I wasn't sure if my nerves would hold out and I've watched from the beginning, didn't think much would shock me anymore. Was prepared for one but not two.

We normally save up episodes, to watch in one go but I didn't dare risk it with this episode.

oh god, what a pointless a boring load of rubbish.

Really can't see why that level of gore was needed. Added nothing to the plot or the characters. Just pointless, mindless st that belongs in B movies and horror movies from the 90s that everyone has forgotten.
I have no issue watching mindless gore, but I expected more from this series. This will have switched off a huge amount of the fan base. younger viewers, people who have not frequented horrific websites etc will not have seen anything like this before. It should not be expected in such a huge and popular series

The plot barely moved a centimeter. It just made the characters look stupid and annoying.
really what were they thinking?

Think this s the worst and most ridiculously crap episode I have seen of the entire series. It makes the governor look like shaft.
I don't see it that way. I see it as an effective demonstration of Negen's (sp?) power and his ability to influence others. And his sheer evilness. It takes the series in a different direction and he's hugely more believable than The Governor. Bravo!

I've changed my Whatsapp pic to the one of him with the bulging eyeball as a tribute. Least I could do...

I thought his front looked a hell of a lot worse

That eye (shuddering at the memory!) what a way for a major character to go out, gone but not forgotten. I really liked him as well, even if he had lost a bit of his edge of earlier series (understandably given what he had been through!)

Watched it on catch up. It was all there. Why would they cut his lines in the live broadcast?

Had to watch Cold Feet after to de traumatised myself.

Why did Rick not cut Neggan in half with the axe when he was in the RV after retrieving it?
Because there's an army outside?

They cut out a fair amount of stuff in the 9pm showing, the 2:30 one had more gore. Wtf?

Other than the swearing every other word, they've nailed Negan with this episode. Holy fking scooby doo on a stick that was intense.

The gore was just right, storyboarded from the comics as already mentioned. Abraham got a different end in the comics I can now safely say without spoilers, I was hoping he still had more to go in the show. Onwards to The Kingdom then, where we'll see Carol and Morgan next week hopefully.

The acting is absolutely first rate from Lincoln and Morgan (Negan).

Something similar crossed my mind this morning. I can't find the bd come the start of the school year, let alone in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.

/Also clocked the guy with the Polaroid camera.

I know.

The people Rick's group killed. It's no wonder Negan is a bit cross.

Morgan as Negan is simply brilliant. I think they've really nailed that unnerving air of showmanship and permanent, inexorable menace. I didn't really have a problem with the beatings or the gore involved with them but I started to feel really uncomfortable in the scene where Rick was commanded to slice off Carl's arm.

As others have said, I think the episode did well in showing that the real enemy isn't the walkers and that the bigger problem is people just being dicks. I know that during the 'get my axe' bit, the walkers didn't seem to be of any concern compared to the knowledge of what would happen if he didn't retrieve the axe.

This season will be pretty interesting.

Morgan reminded me of his Comedian in Watchman, violent with a smile.

I thought the climax of the axe part ended strangely, like it had been badly edited. Thought he might swing the axe and get blocked by the bat.

I thought the violence was pretty shocking but now having seen the graphic novel strips it mirrors it nicely so makes sense.

I know mate, hence why I said "his Comedian". It's a similar style, he may have done it elsewhere but I've not seen him in much else that I can think of.

UK version also cut out the close up scene of Glenn's body and hand twitching on ground with his caved in skull...
I watched it on Now TV and that was definitely shown (as was his last words to Maggie).
