Still think Stannis burning his daughter alive is still the most genuinely harrowing thing I've seen on TV, this was a close second, flowers third.
Jesus, I'd forgotten about that, yep, that's at the top!ben5575 said:

No, the plot didn't move far - the time line barely shifted a few hours, but my heart was going full tilt for the whole things.
I think it may be the complete opposite. The show has been building to that scene for several seasons now and with that episode has made a fundamental shift in direction. As others have pointed out, the zombies aren't the enemy anymore.blade runner said:

Really? We've had a child murdering her sister and subsequently being executed. Sure there was more fake blood involved in this one but it's not like they have been setting a low bar for violence that provokes a reaction.
Just for the record, I found that episode far more disturbing than all the combined blood and gore to date.I honestly don't think that level of gore will be the norm going forward, probably not until presumably Negan dies. It's a sit up and take notice, talk about it moment. Not just fade in with all the other gore.
You just couldn't have that episode with much less gore, it wouldn't be as effective, it wouldn't stand out. Some getting their head caved in with a bat covered in barbed wire is going to be exactly as they showed, slow, painful and not easy.

Very intense episode with Negan giving a masterclass in how to subjugate someone. I'm guessing this is not the first time Negan has done such things, as he managed to break Rick down from the strong leader we've known him as to a snivelling wreck in a very short space of time.
To be fair, Rick's never been a strong leader. He's taken his group from one crisis to another, never had a clear plan, and only been 'in charge' because the others have inexplicably let him.In the prison, he went all hippy, so they changed the leadership. As a result, and for the first time, they began to grow crops and build a community. When that all went south, they let Rick be in charge again, and consequently they lurched from one crisis to another.

Watching Talking Dead live, catching up with clips of the two dearly departed, I was in stitches at some of Abraham's comments.
Did you see the clip of Glenn and Abe in the makeup trailer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXQn5YcNcSc
It was funny to see Darrrrryl, be a lil hammered.

Yarp. He's gotten it down to a fine skill so he knows when Rick is beaten and when he's not. Rick's group are only alive thanks to him, so it's a very animalistic thing to smack the leader and have all the ducklings follow a new leader.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
