Was that Daryl at the end (he got there quick) or was it Dwight with Daryl's crossbow?
Interesting. Didn't think of Dwight!

I agree with pretty much everyone - what an absolute waste of episode. The producers have come up with a formula of: Big budget start to the season, fill with nothing and induce a slow build-up with minimal budget, wait the whole season to take on inevitable bad guy, gather the troops and fight for the a big budget finale. Repeat next season with new bad guy.

Boring, predictable and sadly simply flogging a cash cow.
Not sure how else they'd do the show though. There needs to be a regular threat, which walkers aren't. There needs to be a crescendo to each season, with character development in between. How else would they provide these without regular bad guys?

Thing is I think the TWD Universe has, at least on screen, gone stale. The push to a new direction needs to happen IMO, an even bigger World beyond the Saviours and Alexandria in the locale and move outwards towards linking them with some answers to the whys and hows so they can wrap it up in a couple of seasons should they need to.

How many episodes are left this season, it's 2 isn't it?
Yes, just two more to endure!

I actually enjoyed last night's episode. It's setting the scene to the conclusion of the series, which thankfully is almost over. Here's hoping to some excitement for the remainder of the series.

This whole series has been like one long painful trailer to the finale. It's just so bloody dull and yet I'm still watching it. Argh!

I don't think it's been all bad, lets not forget how it started. I don't recall the last time a new series of TWD was so well liked. There has been some good parts of this series, but yes it's dragged too, and a lot of build up to this huge fight we're expecting in 2 weeks, they've been busy introducing characters and locations - 3 new groups this series alone.

The biggest problem for me is that there is no longer a story arc. In the beginning they were searching for a cure and there was the suggestion that they (we) might find out the back story as to how the pandemic started and what has happened to the rest of the world. Then we were heading to Washington for answers until we discovered Eugene was full of st. Now it's a journey to nowhere. So what if they defeat Negan? If the world has truly gone to pot, then it will only be a matter of time before another stronger group threatens them.

So either they all get killed or there is some form of salvation (they discover a walled City or such) otherwise I can't see how they can ever satisfactorily end the series. It's not heading towards anything - they aren't on a journey towards an outcome/discovery. Are they simply going all live happily ever after? Does anyone care?

They've got the finish in the can already for when the network pulls it.

If i wanted to watch a soap opera I'd watch Eastenders.

I thought Eugene had spotted them and was warning them off with that radio message, but no.
I said to the wife that's Dwight at the end. I think this will be the he's not fully with the Negan program lead into the final episode not that it hasn't been signposted enough already.

If that happens I'll need to buy a new TV because the cat is going through the current one.

On a related note, with all the adverts for Red Nose Day I hadn't spotted until now that Rick is the one with signs from Love Actually that's obsessed with Keira Knightley, rightly so to my eyes, but now I'll always see him a little differently.

Hard to believe Negan turns his back on a full armed and insulted Dwight, after he took his wife, roasted his face etc. Same with Rick, obviously so mentally dominated Negan knows they are his mentally and physically.

I think it's Dwight too...he'll use Rosita to get into the camp with Rick to try and side with him and help show him how to kill/capture Negan! Afterall Dwight is dead when his wife reappears so the only way to get his wife back (who is hiding somewhere??) is for Negan to be killed or he his.

Whether Rick believe's him or not is another story..!

Anyway can't see all this panning out in 2 episodes so i think it'll lead up to them fully setting up to fight and just as it's away to kick off end of season then we will have to wait for Season 8!

Me too. It is the dregs now, which is a shame for a series I liked so much before. I once re-watched it all after about four seasons, just to re-cap on it all. That won't be happening again.

Did anything happen in the latest episode? I put it on and started reading my iphone, looked up and the credits started rolling.

I just watch it out of habit now...

hehe

Spoke to a few people and they have all said the same, its very small, almost insignificant stuff happening every episode.

Ok Morgan is going to kill everyone and the women and doing a Rambo.... anything i have missed?

I do hope things actually happen these last episodes, but as said i think it will all build up to Negan and Rick a foot from each other and that's the end of the series folks! eek

If I read that happens, I shall be deleting all 8 episodes from my planner without even watching them.

Might as well delete them now.

In my mind there is zero chance of anything but a big build up to a fight and then a cliffhanger.

As someone said earlier, to refresh the show they need to break out of their little locale and investigate a bit more of the world. The entire show seems to have been trapped within a 20 mile radius somewhere near Atlanta.

If its anything like fking LOST. I wasted over a 100 hours on that, was hooked the first series, series two less, series three this is st, by the end it was just a case of get to the fking point. I have never felt so angry at an ending in all my life. I wish physically harm on the writers.

Series 54, episode 18, the Finale.

(Impression given of a past event, life looks normal. People going about their daily life).

There is a loud crash outside a hospital, a van is hit by a car. It's contents are scattered across the road. A small now open box with the label "Extremely dangerous, keep quarantined" is visible on it. A mosquito is seen flying away towards the hospital and in through a window, biting the arm of a patient who wakes up with a start and slaps his arm, killing the mosquito. It is Rick. He suddenly starts shaking and convulsing, he dies, the machine he is hooked up to gives out an alarm. Nurse and Dr rush in, can't revive him they call a time of death. As they turn away he sits up, eyes glazed over and attacks them. Rick is infected number 1 and starts the whole chain of events.

What we have all seen previously was just a dream, reality is much worse.
