If the high court have issued an eviction notice, whilst the enforcement team can help in contacting the council and allowing extra time on the day, AFAIK they do not have the authority to call off the eviction.
It wasn't about calling it off, but postponing it for the safety of a minor. They had the ability to do that (regardless of the authority or legality) in the same way anyone on the ground can make a reasonable judgement when they have all the facts in hand.

I recall one episode where the police wanted to call a halt to an eviction, the bailiff explaining that none of them had the authority to not carry it out, the policeman getting on the radio to base to ask for legal clarification only to be told it had to go ahead.
The episode the other night showed an eviction with 5 kids and the mum 9 months pregnant, a council official turning up to stop it, then getting on the phone to the council's lawyer to tell them to stop the eviction, but the lawyer, as soon as he found out it was a high court writ, telling the council worker they had to get out.

Perhaps there is a tiny clue there why they were in financial trouble. When will people learn to take responsibility for the consequences of their actions?
This is my guilty pleasure TV show.
Best one I saw was a writ at an Indian take away in Essex.
The EO's turned up but the two guys working that night denied all knowledge and said the take away now belonged to another company.
After some investigation they headed out to one of the guy's cars and confirmed his ID. Then the other guy found a letter with a mobile number for the 'new owners', he rang it and the guy in the kitchen's mobile went off!

The ex footballer was a strange one, forging letters, feigning illness then pays up eventually.
The knife guy was a 'madman' alright, surprised his actions didn't attract further police activity.
The guy being evicted with about 8 knives around the flat was a complete nutjob!
Weren't the government supposed to be cracking down on knife crime? Can't believe he's on camera threatening someone with one and no action was takenThe knife guy was a 'madman' alright, surprised his actions didn't attract further police activity.

On now.
They are there for unpaid parking fines, surely if they had the registration of the offending car that would confirm the one who's saying that is his car is the person they are looking for?
Agreed. I find that a bit odd. Also odd was the owner of the Fiesta having no log book. They are there for unpaid parking fines, surely if they had the registration of the offending car that would confirm the one who's saying that is his car is the person they are looking for?
Bit of over-exaggerrated drama. There's a stag's head on the wall so "he could be a hunter and have guns". OK, or he could have bought the head in a junk shop.
Turns out he's got a large collection of taxidermy. Could fetch big bucks. I was wrong, but why automatically assume he's a big-game hunter?
