I might be a bit behind here, but yesterday I found out all about the new spin-off from 24, with a new cast of characters but set in the same universe, and continuing the real-time narrative style.

So far quite a lot seems to be confirmed, and Kiefer Sutherland "Hasn't ruled out" returning as Bauer in a cameo.

Also, Jimmy Smits is playing a "Senator running for President" which sounds exactly like his character in The West Wing!

Premiers right after the Superbowl on Feb 5th.

I couldn't find another thread but then "24" and "Legacy" are quite common phrases on PH, so apologies if this needs to be moved/merged/closed.

Posting in here because the other thread says no spoilers.

Anyone seen the first 2 episodes yet?

Well it's typical 24 so far - dodgy middle eastern terrorists (in the end it will probably turn out that some US government person is behind them), a suspected CTU mole who isn't actually the mole, a dodgy b-plot involving an annoying school girl, the lead bloke breaking into a government/police building which then goes wrong, racist cops......

No, I haven't, and even though this is my thread, I'll go to the no spoilers thread.

Happy for this to become the spoilers thread though.

So until Sky start showing it an the UK are able to catch up with the American broadcast, here it is for us non-UK viewers. If your some sort of bellend that comes in here complaining of spoilers, well it does say in the title its for non-UK Viewers

Anyway, its all started off predictably and i think the following is going to happen:
  • Jimmy Smits will actually be a bad guy
  • Power struggle in the black gang leading to lead characters girl being the new Elisha Cuthbert and in constant peril
  • The teacher will bottle it causing the students brother to seek him out, teacher finds hero and students brother = head of the whole thing
Though theres only 12 episodes so im guessing there wont be much twisting and turning as per the earlier seasons

Trouble with that thread is that youll get 'UK' people stumbling into it and then crying how it isnt identified as a spoiler thread etc

Episode 2 is a nonsense. As if something like that would ever happen. I realise its TV but even so.

Also, there is no connection with the characters. If they were to die then who cares.

Just to draw this to a close.

I stuck with the series. I was too loyal to the 24 brand, and this left me underwhelmed by the ending.

Could have been great. Sadly, was not great.

I'd agree with that. Perfectly watchable but not a patch on the old ones.
