I caught it by accident years ago and thought it was great , however on a second viewing it wasn't as good .
What was the skinhead movie set in as or New Zealand called ? May have starred a very young Russell Crowe but I may be imagining that in a Sunday stupor !

I also saw that when it was released. I don't think it was that memorable, apart from the cast. And I think Stephen Fry directed it?

A couple of days ago I was reminded of "The Audition". I don't think many people know about it. One of the most disturbing and difficult to watch films I've ever seen.

While some Australian/NZ films are getting mentions, it seems like a good time to say Black Sheep again. NZ comedy horror from 2006 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sheep_(2006_fi... (not the '96 Chris Farley film with the same name which also came up on the Google search and I haven't seen)

I've seen that, it's a good film. Always seems to be on TV at around the same time as "Thank you for smoking".

La Haine , subtitled black and white French movie set in the Paris no go area
I've seen that thumbup
I saw this film in Brighton years back. Asian Dub Foundation played a live gig/soundtrack/score on the stage in front of the screen throughout the film.

Really wish I'd smuggled in a video camera to bootleg it. The mix of people was everyone from dread-locked teenage hippies to 60 year old men in posh suits. Seeing everyone on their feet jumping around to ADF whilst watching the film was an amazing experience.
La Haine is very, very good.
We watched it in a French lesson at school.

I can still remember the whole monologue from the start. C'est l'histoire d'un mec qui tombe d'un immeuble de cinquante etages....
I just remember jumping up and down, a lot, to ADF playing live. biggrin

Edit because RDF is not ADF!

I was going to post up this but never got round to it. Saw this at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle one Friday night when I was at uni; used to see all kinds of 'arty-farty' films there. If I remember correctly it came out at a similar time to Reservoir Dogs and people were says it was violent and I was thinking, well, I bet you haven't seen Man Bites Dog. The rape scene in that I have trouble watching.

Think that is in somebodues flat? Ends up in a sink.

My memory is when he was hunting the child after killing the parents is what got every bodies outrage up. I just saw it as a black comedy after the first scene it's pretty obvious it's setting the tone that way.

Made by students for pennies over a long period iirc.

Henry portrait of a serial killer is also a good film should probably be mentioned here
