Thought she did it very well, still the funniest thing on Tv for me.
Try Taskmaster on Dave (also available on demand). It makes QI look pretty pedestrian in my opinion.

"What's that disgusting smell?! Have you been saying 'Sandy Toksvig' again?! Well don't. You know it brings on my eczema." wink

I enjoyed QI with Fry but always made a point of ignoring the shows when she was a guest. Just find her incredibly irritating (file alongside Lee Mack).

The woman guest isn't always the worst one. The one this week was rather good. Jupitus is always boring for me, Alan and Romesh were both excellent.

I found Fry kept his guests in check a little, especially Alan Davies. Davies was getting on my tits a little Friday as Toksvig gave him free rein or didn't reel him in. He can be somewhat childish sometimes on QI.

Sandi needs to find her feet as host, and not be a Fry-alike. Alan can be childish, I agree, but it can be entertaining

Blimey. When did Stephen Fry die? I missed that.
Umm, not sure if serious, he hasn't died, just chose to step down. I'm hoping he'll make an appearance on the panel for a Xmas special or something

Another one to add to the ever growing list of unfunny comedians that are labouring under the impression that they have any discernible talent what-so-ever.
I haven't seen this QI (I'm planning to watch it tonight) but I just can't get on with him on panel shows. I haven't seen his stand up though

He was sharp as a tack on QI.

Watched QI XL, it was funny, the bit with Sandi being every bit as smart as Fry was very funny, and the standout comedian was the Asian bloke, don't know his name, but he was very sharp. In fact that side of the room was excellent.
He's got a show on BBC3 now - "Asian Provocateur" - available on iPlayer.

Frankly I thought it was better without Fry. As good as he was, tended to keep the others in check hanging on his pomposity. Toksvig just let it flow and the panellists just bounced off each other. Felt far more spontaneous, even if there is scripting.

I'm finally getting round to watching this now. Maybe I'll finally find Romesh Ranganathan more endearing than before - a lot of people have told me he was very good in this.

I have to say I find QI to be rather sanctimonious, superior, "we're cleverer than you proles", and not dissimilar to Mornington Crescent in I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. Oh rah rah rah aren't we all terribly amusing. Alan Davies being the absolute epitome of this.

Alan Davies can fk off with his tedious 'shouting something over and over again at the top of his voice'routine

it's worn very thin, very quickly

Friday nights, I think. I've just been watching it on iPlayer.

Quite enjoyed the second episode. I was very fascinated by the fact Niagara Falls were "switched off for cleaning" in the 60's

The joke of Alan Davies having a different buzzer which plays something zany to reflect how funny he is - that has also worn thin.

Romesh Ranganathan was more likeable than I usually find him but I didn't think he was especially funny although I guffawed at one particular comment he made.

Overall it's not bad - no better or worse than QI was with Fry. It's far from my favourite thing to watch but it's not bad either. I can happily watch it.

This week's token female guest ( Lucy Beaumont ) contributed very little - it all seemed to go straight over her head. Surely she can't be as thick as she appeared ?
