Can anyone help here?

Firstly as Spain is in the EU, should her treatment not be carried out by the Spanish NHS?

Secondly, if the lady has not seen a her GP for 5 years, there are no recent records to check surely?

"the couple had taken out a £45 joint insurance policy"

Hmmm

"Mr and Mrs Dean are adamant there was no communication from the surgery."

Yeah, right.

"Regrettably, as Mrs Dean is not registered with a GP, we could not access the medical records required under the terms and conditions of her policy to make a fully informed decision. It is always important to check that the terms and conditions of the policy you're buying are appropriate for your personal situation."

All sounds fair enough to me.

£5,000 claim for cystitis? Surely someone's taking the p155?

Holiday of a lifetime? What? a £500 trip to Lanzarote?

Apart from which cystitis is a chronic condition and its flare-ups are fixed with a fiver's worth of penicillin.

The insurance company was being polite.
