After 15 years the cost of sky (according to mrs Hoonigan) has just got too much @ £54.00 a month.

Thought we could get a better deal so called them this evening to do some haggling but they didn't seem to care, kinda thought they would discount or go through a retention department but no, 30mins on the phone with my wife and it's gone frown

The problem I love discovery etc so will really miss it, are they likely to call us back and offer us a deal to stay (30 days left of billed month) or will they let us walk? We can't get virgin etc here so have limited options...

Doh!

Phone them back asking for this, tell them it is unfair they are offering such a deal to new customers but not rewarding your loyalty, explain that they could match that and you don't even need a new dish or box.

Is that plus line rental though? Probably work out same or as near as as he was paying before, no?

Gets watched a lot. All the sports and so on. I could probably do without the movie channels so really must give them a call.

This. Even with one of these, it still feels as though you're being ripped off with the amount of ste they put on Sky

Give it a week and call them back saying you've just moved in to the house and would like to take up an introductory offer. (You may need to use your wife's maiden name or something or just misspell your name!)

Cancelled my Sky earlier in the year and bought a couple of Freesat boxes as Sky turn off the ability to record. The only thing I used to watch that I miss are the Discovery channels, but saving £60 per month made me get over it fairly quickly.

Son moved out last year got the complete package for £25 pm , I rang up complaining that after 14 years I was being penalised for being loyal and wanted the same deal , ended up cancelling .

A few phone calls later I get £100 credit on the account and pay about £32 pm , I ask for the deal to be ongoing but they said twelve months contract , so I gave them notice there and then.

Come back from holiday this year to find two payments out of my account totalling over £100 , I rang up an queried it to be told the contract ran on after the twelve months , I kicked up a fuss and was told they would cut me off immediately which they did but it would take up to a month to get my money back , told them I would take it up with th e bank , I eventually received three refunds before the correct amount was refunded.

My sons deal ran out and he rang up and got it renewed at £25 pm for another year.!!!!!!!

Must have been on the phone for the best part of two hours sorting it out , a more incompetent customer service department I've ever encountered.

Cancelled the direct debit , and now I'm getting emails warning me of a late payment charge , they are completely useless.

Never again , at any price.

The retards did the same for me.
Paid for a year there and then, gave notice to cancel once that years credit was 'spent' and they took out the full £50+ twice for the next couple of months.
Even though they cancelled our service, they kept charging us for it...!
Useless wkers.
