I'm holding out for a call back with a better offer. If not I have a code off a friend who installs Sky for £35 a month for everything including a new Sky Q box - I would have to sign it up in my wife's name, though I may see if I can live without Sky F1 this year and give F1 on 4 a go.

Cancelled in August, I must have had about 150 phone calls from them ever since. I was working away until Friday, which I explained to them. Since Friday, I've had at least four or five calls a day from them due to me not answering.

Inspired by this topic and being one of those people that have paid full whack for everything for a number of years; quick call this evening netted a straight 50% reduction. Result!

It really is a no brainer, amazed more people don't do it as there is literally nothing to lose. Sky have backed themselves into a big corner by being so aggressive in discounting to 'quitters'.

im on a half price TV deal at the moment, this results in (i think) the standard + family packs + sports + movies, its very roughly 40 quid a month. i kicked up a stink about the broadband a while back so get that free and just pay the line rental. i think it would be approx. 100 a month if my deals all expired (May time).

i find that the trick is to set up a cancellation then within the my sky account/app you usually get something appear, in my case it was a half price TV deal, i was happy with that so didn't bother with any further haggling etc.

i didn't receive a single phone call or letter however so it appears that their methods vary from customer to customer.

i do enjoy Sky but I don't think I wouldn't be happy to pay 100+ a month for it. If I cant get a decent deal in May I will just get a Kodi box like everyone else seems to be doing for sport and movies.

Going to give this a try.

Been with them 10 years, but last had a 'deal' 3 years ago.

Just called them.

Re-jigged my package to get rid of multi-room as it rarely gets used, plus I can view most channels via Xbox.

40% loyalty discount as well means a reduction from £56 to £23 per month for 18 months. Result.

Our cancellation finally kicked in after 4 weeks and 30+ phone calls.

A few days later, they phone me up and offer to reconnect me (full package, Cinema, Sports, HD etc) for free on a trial basis (a month, I think they said) with a 60% package discount after.

We're quite happy with Now TV/Netflix and can't be bothered to mess around having to cancel and put our Sky box back in, so we declined.

With a week to go after cancelling, I had not had a phone call and I was getting nervous with the F1 season getting so close!

My friend suggested I log into my Sky account and see if an offer was there.

Turns out he was correct - 60% off any Sky + package with a mile long list of T&Cs though.

I t turned into a bit of an epic webchat, but instead of instantly accepting my initial offer of £24.80 (reduced from £44) for my legacy HD with SkyF1 package, I asked about adding Cinema and moving to Sky Q - in the end they offered me £50 credit on top - probably just to get rid of me! hehe

So that's 12 months 60% discount with 2 months free. smile I'm happy - and if I add Sky Cinema on at anytime it will be discounted 60% and I only have to commit for 1 month.

So much less agro than having to phone up as you can do other stuff during a webchat.

Thanks for this. I hadn't had a call, Phone and Broadband had cancelled today, TV was due to end 22/03
Logged into MySky, got 60% off TV and offer to Web chat, took the Web Chat and negotiated my full package to £23.30 for 12 months.
So 60% off TV, 50% off Line rental and 50% off Broadband. I wasn't offered this right away and had to haggle slightly.

Didn't want to move my broadband - but I've just taken the bait of the 75% off any package and taken out the full works for £20 a month.

Not sure what I'll do about the box - maybe look for a refurb somewhere, as mine isn't quite as stable as I'd like.

I found a newish sky plus box on eBay, on sale around the corner, for £20. It's pretty simple to just swap your viewing card into the new box. Google it. IIRC I put the new card in, clicked to activate but ended up having to reboot the box by unplugging to get it to work.

Reading of all the good deals people are getting through Bagga almost makes me wish my contract was up....
Another vote here for Bagga. He sorted me a cracking deal on Sky Q, so anyone who's looking for a better deal on Sky contact him first.

Cancelled just after Christmas. Had loads of cold calls, all ignored.

Friday had a mail shot for 75% off for a year.

Did live chat with them & managed to get a further £50 credit on first bill, so now back on - Sports, HD, Box sets, Discovery, etc. all for just under £15 a month. So more than I was previously getting on £44 a month.

If you wait long enough and Umm & Ahh long enough on Live Chat, whilst suggesting you might sign up............

That's a great deal. I'm at the end of a 12 month deal soon but I'm not sure I can face the wrangling.

It's the most bizarre business model.

Could you have ticked a contact preferences option which prevented them from contacting you ?

Seems it's bit like hotel rooms - unused capacity goes dirt cheap, IF you don't mind asking & accept that the answer might be no.

Better to have my money at huge discount, than not have it.

Almost tried pushing for a free Sky Q upgrade at the same time, but lost my nerve a bit ......
