So we've just cancelled sky TV.....

Anyone with Sky Q had problems with on demand programmes? Certain episodes of series bring up an error message "you don't have the required subscription", even though I've watched 50 other episodes of the same show previously.
What package do you have normally? Sky gave away Box Sets for three months for those without it just before Christmas. It stopped about a week ago.I have stayed in the end after cancelling a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want sky Q so haven't gone the new customer route.
I did however manage to get it at £41 a month for all the channels plus sports (not movies), HD and multi room which seems cheap enough to me.
Normal price was £80 and I had been paying £61 for the last year.

Is the £41 just TV or including Phone and BB as well?I did however manage to get it at £41 a month for all the channels plus sports (not movies), HD and multi room which seems cheap enough to me.

Just TV so I probably have less leverage but my phone and broadband are paid for by my employer.
Ahhh thats handyI was just interested as caught a mate out the other day when he told me how he'd got Sky for £36 for all the channels and sport and movies. I was impressed until he mentioned the additional cost for Phone and BB and the £20 he was paying BT for BT Sport as well
I've now left Sky, am paying £44 a month to BT for Unlimited Fibre, Phone and BT TV (HD including BT Sport UHD)
I've now realised that BT Sport has 80% of the sport i watch (Footy, Moto GP and UFC)
I just have TV with Sky. I got a 50% off deal about September last year with £50 credit and a rolling contract. So I was paying £40 per month for the whole lot.
Jacked in the movies just after Christmas as we had seen pretty much everything we wanted to. The sport has just gone now that the Prem has finished, so I'm down to £18 per month for everything else.
When the 50% deal finishes in a couple of months I'll have to go through the rigmaroll of cancelling the rest of it and then waiting for the 50% offer to be remade. I got it virtually straight away last year but I held on for a couple of weeks trying to get the 60%/£100 credit that was supposed to be doing the rounds at the time.

Cancel it through chat and then check you online account a week or less before your contract end date to see what they have offered you - then you can go on chat and try harder - plead poverty, I didn't have to blag this, as with another unplanned baby on the way we are going to be poor.
Similar position; happy to stay but also need to cut costs (£75+ monthly really adds up over a year). Only offered on the phone a discount of ~£15 per month. Told them I'd be happy to stay if they'd go <£50 but no dice.
Mr Bagga if you're reading this would you be able to help out with a better Sky deal?

Sky's "churn" is causing concern again so they should turn themselves inside out to keep you.
A couple of very generous PHers (including the aforementioned) did email me to offer assistance - just as I was filling out a form to accept one such kind offer Sky called back and have reduced my monthly by half (despite earlier assistance they could not).We get there in the end!
Been with them several years, have gradually moved away phone and broadband so now just have the entertainment tv package.
They rang to offer me a super special offer the other day; half price sports for 3 months. What an incredible deal lol.
Not sure I've got much leverage as I'm not paying them Megabucks per month, but always open to options. Would probably jack it in entirely but I can't get virgin, no standard aerial reception here and I want Eurosport for the bike racing, so I'm a bit stuck !

How do you get a 60% offer? I've been mulling over the 50% they send you when you cancel.
Keep an eye on post, emails and visit both the Sky website (Logged on to your account) and your account via the Interactive button on the Sky box. (But also make sure you've got your marketing preferences set to accept these, otherwise you may not get anything!)When ringing to cancel, they'll tend to give you 40%. I did this and gave my notice to cancel. Within 15 minutes, the 50% offer appeared on Sky onine and Interactive.
Internet wisdom seems to suggest that the 60% is likely to appear a week or two after giving your notice.
If not, then do an Online chat (or ring up) the WinBack team, and see what you can get. 60% sounds like it is the maximum discount currently (A few people got 75% quite a while back) , but you could also ask for a credit to your account. They'll possible offer £25, but see if you can push to £50.
Once your deal has been agreed and put through, ask to be transferred to the Q team, and begin negotiations on the new box. They may not offer much, but at least any credit you have agreed previously will offset the installaton costs.
If they say that the deal you agreed is not transferrable to Q, ask to speak to a manager, or end the call and try again with another adviser, because it is...
Have been paying £56 a month for sky tv, with movies, home phone and broadband, which this month went up to £70 a month due to the deal ending.
Phoned Sky and after a quick chat, it went back down to £56 a month again for the next 18months but I'm interested in whether that is a good deal or not? It didn't take much convincing for them to offer that, I'm sure that there is probably a better deal out there, but not sure how to proceed?
I've got 30 days cooling off period and if there is something better out there, I have time to change my mind.
Any thoughts?
