Perhaps I am due a parrot but you do understand what the words "Grand" and "Tour" might refer to??? smile
Well, in Cockney "Grand" is a bag of sand, or £1000. In French "Tour" means completely different things whether it is masculine or feminine.

Same here, it's the first two options on mine, the banner and then the first thing in the list.

With the people complaining about the sound being out of sync too, I do wonder if everyone who is claiming they are paying aren't being quite do truthful biggrin I know that the rips have had sound sync issues.
Can report no sync issues with my rips wink

I just can't get my head around the excessive arse kissing of The Grand Tour. Top Gear was getting ripped to bits for years, yet The Grand Tour carries on in a similar fashion and gets praised to the hilt.

The new Top Gear got ripped to bits within 5 minutes and it was relentless after that with people obsessing with figures in the Sun. There was no excuses that it was a new team finding their feet. On the other hand the Grand Tour has started off with an experienced team, copied everything they could from Top Gear, have offered nothing new, look uneasy and unnatural with all the scripting being so obvious, yet it's amazing or requires time to grow.

The first episode was good, the second episode was awful and this week's episode was also crap. I genuinely must be missing what others are finding funny and entertaining. The Grand Tour is vastly inferior to what Top Gear used to be.

I can't see the next series of Top Gear not being a match. Evans appears to be the reason many people got upset and he's now gone. Hopefully lessons are learned and they improve. I didn't actually find new Top Gear that bad at all. A number of episodes were better than what The Grand Tour has served up so far.
This for me, but then again I have absolutely no idea why people find Clarkson so funny. I'm clearly in the minority.

I'll give both shows a chance, but as a car fan, I can see Top Gear getting better, and The Grand Tour getting sillier and sillier chasing the casual viewer. Again I'm probably in the minority.

It's hard to miss Amazon's big effort. There's adverts and billboards everywhere too.
5 page advertorial on the back cover (and the next 4 pages) of this month's Motor Trend too.

you may well have hit the nail on the head here - there are waaaaaaaay more causal viewers than petrolheads so it'd make more sense to try and snag those and lose a few more committed gearheads

One thing I still don't understand is why there's absolutely no mention of Grand Tour on Amazon Instant Video. You have to search for it and it really isn't that easy to find. The only way in is to search the "TV genres" section and then search "documentaries", which makes no sense at all.
On my Amazon Fire TV box it is plastered all over the top banner.

Sometimes sound goes out of sync on my firestick, on Iplayer or films or whatever not just GT.

I actually thought the house was quite ugly - lots of inappropriate modern additions and extensions. I lived in Chadlington for 5 years, and there are many nicer houses in the village, the nearby hamlets and in Charlbury.
I've just watched and and it looks a lot like the house from the TG Peugeot feature when they parked a car in to the wall at the end of the segment.

The more I think about it, the more I really like the name.

Using the GT as opposed to TG is wry. And there are lots of other implications for it, all of which work out well.

They will need to end challenges with a celebratory G&T.

Thought Ep3 was by far the best to date, which is a good sign.

Incidentally, I'm quite new to the Fire Stick and I found the GT episodes had an annoying micro-stutter in the picture, which seemed to occur intermittently. I only have a 'standard' HD TV that is around 6 years old, so hardly the latest 4K tech.

Anyway, I did what this bloke says in the following video:

And it seems to be cured! Just thought I'd put that out there in case anyone else was having the same issue...

That'll screw up any content that isn't filmed at 24fps though, so you'll have to remember to change back afterwards.

If anyone simply wants to watch car films without any cocking about, I can't recommend Harry's Garage enough. Genuinely top bloke, car collection to die for, and entertaining/informative videos. Some of the sound quality is a bit dodgy on the early ones, but he seems to have that sorted now. No connection to the chap (although I am hoping he might adopt me). hehe

Anyway, back on topic, Episode 3 was the best so far I thought.

An improvement on the old TG, and very enjoyable. Thought Clarkson's Aston was a horrid colour(though not brown)and thought the best section was the stunning photography of the cars running through the Italian countryside. Think I might have to book a holiday there. Was it Tuscany?

I'm a bit behind:
Ep1: Pretty good, showed promise and justified why the 3 should still make TV together.
Ep2: What a load of ste. 90% of it was so obviously 'filler' and the remaining 10% was mediocre at best.

I too had a few stuttering issues watching this, message saying I had insufficient bandwidth or some such bollix. My TV is only 12 months old, it's Smart Panasonic.

Switched to the Ipad, not one stutter, job's a good 'un.

Three episodes were enough for me. I thought it was just too scripted, badly acted and not particularly funny.

think the old TG although sold world wide was basically a British show that could be enjoyed world wide to some extent. I think the new show has different paymasters and maybe looking for a different audience or at least the old audience plus some others who will actually pay to watch it.
I am sure the episodes are being tweaked as a result of comments but I will be watching again tonight without trying to pull it apart and just enjoy the Cars.
