on amazons own trivia page it says TGT was bought for 160 millions for 2 seasons. Around 4 million an episode. The BBC budget was about 800k an episode I think.
Is there a link to that? IIRC each season is 12 episodes, which would make it 6.7m per episode at that cost (£ or $?)
If it came from the trivia page on IMDB, anyone can log in and edit that.

I don't think Amazon or CMH+Wilman ever confirmed how much it was. A Netflix boss claimed it was $250 million, which the media translated to £160 million at the time.

They did confirm though that they had signed for 3 seasons x 12 episodes.

I agree that red one looked lovely, too good to be ruined by Clarkson IMHO

Ah. That play isn't allowed unfortunately. Now you are going to be called a fanboi.
It's their human right to watch a show they clearly don't like, week in, week out.

[sarky]Or watch it after you've finished reading and being educated by the SUN and drink it all in and love everything about it, cos it's AWESOME innit?! wooo! and CHM are like, SO great and funny at everything they do lol.....[/sarky]
There's a large divide between giving constructive opinion based criticism and having to 'lighten up'.
There's them that love it and them that don't, why both 'groups' can't post a comment about their opinion is beyond me.
I haven't watched since episode3, because it's not up to what CHM did with the BBC, it's not funny, and it has a lack of interesting content, the track is st....etc etc etc...it has failed to deliver...IMO
(I do enjoy reading the comments though wink ) and seeing people struggle to deal with others' opinions.

Must admit that was probably my favourite episode so far, loved the Abarth film and now want one, thought the studio sections were far more natural and very funny, and I couldn't stop laughing at the massage seats smile Enjoyed the Maserati film, even if they were reusing jokes a bit (the knob jokes, mainly), and Clarkson needs to quit with the "Let's not get bogged down" skit, but otherwise that was very enjoyable.

Finally! I thought - a cheap Maserati challenge! This is the sort of thing they should be doing. Maybe they've got the idea and are going to go back to what made them so good originally.

But No.

They have completely jumped the shark Instead of having them do a few challenges over a drive of some distance and just letting the guys be themselves and filming it, they had to script almost the entire thing. What a terrible disappointment.

Hammond "getting lost" in a container facility? Do they really expect us to watch that and not drop our heads in dumb astonishment at their ludicrous conceit??? The idea that they'd film him driving through a working port is beyond dumb.

The rest of the show - Hammonds' Alan Partridge-esque Fiat review aside - was the now usual mix of Benny Hill style humour, dreadful scripted banter and childish behaviour. I literally ff'd through everything apart from the Fiat review and Maserati bit.

Also, is it just me or is Hammond clearly dying his hair?

Amazon Prime now cancelled. I've given TGT a really good chance and its now absolute dogst.

Well I can forget a Bi Turbo that's for sure. Really enjoyed this one other than the American that must surely go next series. Bravo to James May for doing that final stunt with just one arm.

Rubbish. Nearly as bad as the tedious Eco cars. Crashing into each other in the drag race was pointless. The cars were ill handling rubbish on track, then Hammond's could suddenly drift beautifully around a few containers and a roundabout. And I'm going to guess that the two Specialists who couldn't sort Clarkson's car when it got back to the UK may have an idea why now. Thrashing a 25 year old Italian supercar that was pretty flaky when new around on a beach then into the sea probably didn't do anything to improve it's electrics.

I'm guessing he's trying to create a new catchphrase as Beeb probably barred him from using his "how hard can it be" line.

You know when Clarkson does his impression of the stereotypical car bore and does a funny voice and says how much would you not want to go to dinner with him?

Well that is 100% based on PH'ers who argue on threads like this.

Wouldn't surprise me, although he did manage to print "How hard can it be?" on the side of a condom smile

Pretty convinced May has been barred form saying "Oh cock" however, that has been conspicous by its absence.

I think in the lead up to the launch one of them (May or Wilman?) pretty much said that phrase, oh cock, was out of bounds.
