I know you're all busy arguing about "is it or is it any good", but can anyone tell me what the red sports car was in the title sequence please.
AC3000 I think

Obviously I don't read the mail.

But the pics in the article scream "What the actual fk are they up to!"

They couldn't even be bothered to drive around the town? So instead went to the trouble of making masks for lackies to wear???

This show is becoming ever stranger! laugh

That doesn't even make sense, a Jaguar "Bi-Turbo" would have rather quite cool.
I think perhaps you mis-read what he wrote; it was a simile.
I was saying what Clarkson had said didn't make sense, not Cologne. As in you can't really compare a Bi-Turbo with 2.0 Diesel X-type Estate

TGT will have to do a whole lot better than that last episode. That for me was rubbish. What drushed, disjointed, contrived nonsense.

The 'magic' has been lost.

Though the studio segment appears to flow a bit better and be more natural.

IMO one of the best of the series and quite enjoyable. Fell apart at the end but in all a good episode.

But then I am easily pleased - I did like the Abarth (as I did the Alfa last week).

Yes, it's an AC 3000ME, they wanted 3 cars made in Scotland so we put them in contact with a local owner who had one of the cars built at Hillingdon.

I like CHM. I really want to like TGT. But it's awful, and showing no signs of improvement.

I think I will give it a miss for a while and wait to hear if it gets better in due course.

Shame.

I think that belongs in the council thread.

It was them who did that for a laugh rather than the locals.

Well, on the whole I enjoyed that episode. I can see why people don't like it, but each to their own. There are bits I do not like though....the American, Celebrity Brain Crash, and some of the in-tent chatting can be irritating....but I enjoyed the Abarth review, the Maserati challenge was enjoyable (to me, at least).

Some don't like it, some do like it. I'm just glad there's a show on at all smile

I do feel sorry for those who don't like it. I think TGT is pretty similar to the end of the last lot of top gear, and it would appear that MOST of those who don't like TGT were expecting something drastically different.

If I were to change it, I'd get rid of the American, Celebrity Brain crash, I'd reduce the overall time spent "in the tent" and see if they could do more challenges akin to the Maserati one. I'd love them to do more "build" challenges like they used to, such as the amphibious car challenges, or their epic races etc.

Hit the nail on the head there, the build challenges were great, and I always found it entertaining watching them cocking about in a garage as they worked on their creations. Doubt they bother with any of that now!

Trouble is everything must have been in the bag before the series started, unlike TG, so they can't react to criticism. Hopefully things will improve next series, but I wouldn't bet my house on it

I think they should run each episode along the lines of:

1) 5 minutes 'studio/tent' intro.
2) 15 minutes on a semi serious piece relating to their location that week (driving challenge with local hero, your round local car-related site, etc).
3) 15 minutes of a 'serious' car review (like they did with the Fiat this week).
4) 15 minutes of something silly, but no so scripted (a challenge, or whatever).
5) 10 minutes of news/chat/celebrity as required.

In essence, I'd like them to keep the best bits of the current format but make it less scripted/forced and add in something meaningful relating to their location each week.

Have him as the last guest on celebrity brain dump so we can kill two birds with one stone.

I'm finding the banter to be really forced. It seemed much more organic when they were on the Beeb. Found myself reacting in mostly a "ehhhhhhhhh" way to the "jokes" in the most recent episode.

This week was better than last week. I only fast-forwarded about 25 of the 60 minutes.

I'd agree with that. I enjoyed the Maserati piece and the Abarth. Ep 10 was the worst of theh series with the coral reef and 11 was one of the best. I actually quite like Hammond when he's serious.
