I thought that was good. It was probably the best so far, but very TG.

Fantastic episode!

And for the record, I love the theme music and graphics, sets the show up perfectly.

They need a producer who's not a school chum and will tell them when their egos are getting carried away or when they just aren't funny. As it is, Willman (sp?) is clearly part of the clique and is too matey with them.

Get a new producer in there who they respect and the show is still saveable.

Apart from 'The American' bit - finally a great episode after the instantly forgettable dross of the last 11 weeks.

I'd given up on it but some mates made me watch ep 11, so have now watched 12 too. Like a different series. Head and shoulders above the 90% dross in the previous 10 episodes.

I have enjoyed them all some episodes more than others and last nights was really good.
Its a difficult remit to make a show just as good as Top Gear but try not to copy the same format. You can see some of the frustration in the producing of the shows .
Is there one left in Dubai and then I think they will look at the series and make the necessary adjustments for the next one.
Hope Dave take it because they do editing very well and the hour show becomes about 45mins.

Episode 12 better, more about cars than stupid challenges like building cars out of mud!

Finally!

The American is a tt, that Brain Crash is a patronisation, but the rest of it kind of worked. This time...

Having three pairs of sunglasses laid out on a table at a petrol staton shows that it's carefully orchestrated, but take that away, and it's much closer to the "apparent" spontaneity of which they have been capable in the past.

That was far, far better. Hammond in particular was a lot less annoying than before. A few of us were talking about TGT at work yesterday and the one thing I noticed is that nobody could remember any specific aspect from each episode. Admittedly yes they've all been repeated 4000 times on Dave but with previous Top Gear episodes there's so many hilarious moments and gags that are genuinely funny, interesting and memorable. It'd be nice to see some of that magic back for the next series but we shall see, less would definitely be more for the most part.

Goodness that Bentayga is stupid thing. In other news I've just spent a good 30 minutes optioning up an F-Pace.
The F-Pace did genuinely look like a bargain compared to the other two! Best looking of the 3 as well.
I had a good look over an F-Pace a couple of months ago, you certainly do get an awful lot of vehicle for your money, difficult to fault. I mentioned to one of the staff that I liked it, but just too big. He was quicck to mention that a smaller version is in in the pipleine. Similar in principle to the Range Rover Evoque. I shall certainly have a gander when its released.

As for the Bentayga, I actually got to sit in one at the Game Fair last year. I think the most appropriate word to describe it is "Sumptuous". Truly an exceptional vehicle, mind you, thats refected in the price.

God that Bently was fast!

Wouldn't have one even if I was rich, but it was fast.

Surprised how slow in comparison the Jag was.

The jag is massively good value of money in comparison, but when I see them on the road, they don't look as good as when I see them in photos. I can't remember any other car doing this for me. It's usually the other way around.

I haven't been a fan of the old TG for years or any of TGT but I genuinely enjoyed that. And I have to confess to a juvenile snigger at the dead game birds falling from the sky & the exploding fox etc. But why on earth did Hammond have to talk such utter borroks about the price of the F-pace?

He started off claiming it was £28,000 FFS, then £30,000, then £34k and finally a 'definitive' price of £51k. Err, still wrong; how about at least £55k, and that's only including a couple of options he mentioned specifically, could have been a lot more.

Thing is, the Celebrity Brain Crash skit last, on average 1m 30s.

Does it really matter, it's not stealing time from the rest of the show, and it's not 10 minutes like SIARPC used to linger on for.

Just have a giggle at it and enjoy the rest of the show, or tap the FFWD button a couple of times to skip past it.
