I agree that the duel scene was the best part, but we already knew the Company was desperate to keep him alive...

You are assuming everything was as it seemed.
What if the gun was loaded properly. Mr D was shot. But Mr D, is immortal and heals fast. It's possible the guy ran thinking he'd been stitched up somehow, and correctly assuming he was going to get shot. Not because he was a "company man".

Then it's even more twaddle than I feared! biggrin

I'm not convinced he was shot and recovered.

But he did point out later that he was immune to cholera...

He knew the cholera outbreak was a front and thus didn't exist, hence he said he was immune.

His next line was something like "clearly my life is more important than yours, hence the company didn't load you a bullet"

Unfortunately, as most of the dialogue is mumbled, it's bloody difficult to pick up on nuances!!!

Well, if you buy into the immortality plot, then he might have said that to explain away the non-effect of the ball.

Personally, I think the simple explanation is much more likely! biggrin

I'm losing interest a bit now, but we're more than half-way through so I'll probably stick with it until the end.

"Mnn", indeed. I've started practicing making the sound so I can use it at work.

Good to see Delaney can resist a spot of water-boarding sanctioned by HMG.

Love the portentous cello riffing.
