Those meat hooks. and when he was whacked over the head it seemed very real.
Is he some kind of magical or dead creature? As he was clearly badly hurt and yet next time we see him his head has healed
Take a look on the previous page for the Telegraph link, on theories. Particularly the still from the US trailer...Is he some kind of magical or dead creature? As he was clearly badly hurt and yet next time we see him his head has healed

I have been liking the series so far.
Has anyone eles watched this through iplayer? I am noticing the picture quality in the darker shots to be dreadful, even for iplayer.
It does seem quite dark generally, but my OH has 60w bulbs encased in black lampshades so the ambient light level in the room would struggle to detract from anything on a TV screen! It's fine on the live broadcast but through Iplayer (tried on more than 1 device too) the dark areas of screen seem to be made up of massive 1" by 1" black pixels of only 3 shades. It is very distracting.Really enjoying this so far; well written and some great cinematography.
I'm curious to see if there is an actual supernatural angle to this or if it is just the visions of a mentally broken man. Hardy is nailing at the minute though and Jonathan Pryce is fantastic.
Surprised to read that Hardy has taken a financial hit making this though, apparently losing £2 million. Seems the ratings are quite low, which shock me as everybody I know seems to be watching it.
I'm guessing he'll make the money back on DVD sales and it looks like it is getting a second series, so I'm sure he'll make that back.

He took a bit of a hit from the Malay assassin when the American stitched him up - but did seem to be back to normal reasonably quickly. I just thought there was time elapsed they didn't elaborateIs he some kind of magical or dead creature? As he was clearly badly hurt and yet next time we see him his head has healed
The walk to the foreshore just to eat(or not) their boiled eggs felt like excessive padding.
Sir Stuart Strange does not handle the pressure too well for the boss of the EIC, does he?
Why/how does JKD's little knife make such a racket when he unsheathes it to do the business?
Still, it's currently the most enjoyable hour of UK terrestrial TV for me.

Agree with that. It's not perfect by any means and he does like growling through his lines. But it's the only period drama that's actually kept me watching. So much better than those treacle coated Jane Austin stuff. Still, it's currently the most enjoyable hour of UK terrestrial TV for me.
I also quite enjoy the CGI digital painted backgrounds as well.

Am I only in thinking this is becoming a tad repetitive?
Last night's episode didn't seem to add anything of significance, certainly not enough to justify an hour of peak time TV...
Very disappointed...
pace has slowed a little but no I am thoroughly enjoying still, the duel scene twist was clever, and I am never quite sure what will happen next, would be happy if they dropped the mystical bks angle thoughLast night's episode didn't seem to add anything of significance, certainly not enough to justify an hour of peak time TV...
Very disappointed...
