Repeats you'd like to see
Discussion
These days we seem to have more repeats than original programming though that's not surprising given the number of channels they have to fill . What programs haven't you seen for years and you'd like to see again.
Maybe I'm looking back with rose coloured specs, but I'd like to see reruns of
Hill Street Blues,
Mork and Mindy,
Tutti Frutti.
What about you?

Pre-2000 Top gear
Those childrens films I used to watch in the late 80s, where some teens turn into detectives or somesuch
Press gane. Ohhh Linda Day
And some more Gp races. maybe from the 50s, and even the 30s races at Donington. Which reminds me. In 2003 (and again in 2006) I asked the bbc for a copy of the 6 hours race at Brands, which had onboard images from the Aston AMR1. I'm still waiting for a reply..

Bouquet Of Barbed Wire
hopefully with the young Susan Penhaligon and not the remake.Jason King
The Invaders
The Saint
Recently ploughed through the DVDs of The Saint and Jason King, despite a few ropey episodes they both still managed to hit the right spot.
Also - Department S, The Protectors, UFO and a probably long forgotten series called Thick As Thieves from 1974, with John Thaw and Bob Hoskins as a pair of old lags.

Blake's 7. Asked many times to the BBC and they always say NO. Think it was sold to GOLD or something a few years back.
I always wanted a re-run of that, but at the time where it might have been possible there were still only the four channels, and by the time there was plenty of places it could be shown, it was getting on a bit. I do remember being at a mates house years after it finished and there was an episode on BBC on a Sunday morning, but I've no idea whether it was just a sporadic filler piece. They did re-release all of them on VHS tape, which I bought, and even watched a few of them. Gave them away a few years back when I'd also bought all of them on DVD, and noticed that maybe eight or nine had been watched, the rest never opened. A mate in the US told me that it was so popular over there at one point that after the last episode was shown, they started again at the first one, much like ITV2 used to do with "Friends".When they remade "Survivors", I thought it would be nice to see the original ones as well. But as a taster, they did show one of the original episodes and I found it very slow, very dark and quite difficult to watch. By contrast they re-ran "The Day of the Triffids", which dates from around the same time, and that was very good.

I noticed that when the BBC were showing F1 a few years back, they did show an old one on the red button channel in the run-up to the weekend, I think it was the British GP. I was then hoping that they might show some others, I'd quite like to see some seventies Monaco for example. But it seemed to be a one-off.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
