Sky Go onto TV?
Discussion
As far as I recall, SkyGo was always locked down fairly tight - it couldn't be mirrored, it couldn't be cast and the app didn't run on Smart TVs. I think Sky's intention was to prevent them from losing out on additional MultiRoom subscriptions.
Unless things have changed recently, laptop out via HDMI or a hardwired XBox 360 are amongst the simplest solutions.

Some people have had success running Sky Go on rooted Android devices but it's a bit of a faff (e.g. http://androidforums.com/threads/sky-go-has-anyone...
I run Sky Go on my PS4 which is connected to my TV as I couldn't be bothered with the above.

I'm pretty sure they charge something like £5 to use it on a 360 now and there's no Xbox One app.
Yep, I think it's the same for PS4, £5 per month. If you're calling Sky sometimes you can get it bundled in for nothing i.e. through moaning re price hikes. The app is excellent, it's difficult to tell sometimes if you're streaming or actually watching via a box. Very good quality.

Anyone have trouble getting SkyGo to work in Firefox and Chrome on their laptop? Last time I tried a couple of weeks ago it kept on throwing up various errors and stuff about Starlight (which I downloaded) and it still didn't work. Ended up resorting to using my phone.
This is exactly what prompted me to ask the question!!!Gompo said:

Tried to use now tv for the first time a few weeks ago. Got a sky sports pass free with some beer, logged into my account on chrome, put the code in and started getting silverlight error messages.Fired up Edge, thinking it's microsoft's latest browser so will be ok, got the same.
Fire up my youview box went into the now tv app, it doesn't support live streaming.
Downloaded the app onto my android tv box, error on it, something to do with the app detecting an hdmi cable plugged in.
Tried my "smart" blueray player, no now tv app from samsung on that.
Eventually got it working via firefox and a lead from my laptop into the pc port on my tv which doesn't stream the sound and kept on buffering so had to connect up my bose speaker which of course had a dodgy lead so kept on buzzing and cutting out.
Bought a now tv box which to be fair works well.
