Thanks for posting this OP, it's episode 7 of season 2, for some reason my sky planner hasn't picked this up.

It's old issue of mirroring the breaks in USA transmission dates.

I wonder why they've moved it to Wednesday evenings. It filled-in nicely for the absent Top Gear on Sundays. frown

Agree with that smile

Jay is in a league of his own. He's such a laid back, easy going and genuinely funny bloke. Puts Clarkson, etc to shame.

He also gets some fascinating people on his shows. last night in particular, with the former vice president and the Secretary of State. A brilliant show all round!

There's no nastiness or humour at anyone's expense.

See the valuation of those campers? Makes me want to export some from here for sale in the US ..

I think this is the best car show on tv at the moment.

Absolutely, petrolheads with passion, from Joe Biden and Colin Powell, through assorted celebrities and rich guys, to that hoot of a couple with the Isetta and chicken suits. Marvellous.

Then compare that to the Gordon F---ing Ramsay interview on TG.

This show along with all the other American car shows knocks spots off anything we put on over here such as TG/GT 5th gear ( 2 years out of date) and the others albeit car S.O.S is good.

Cheers

Agreed, it was perfect Sunday night viewing, and easily better than new TG or GT.

Think of the money that's been thrown at those two, and Jay Leno can produce something massively more interesting on a much smaller budget.

The BBC should have bought this and re-branded it Jay Leno's Top Gear, instead of paying the ginger one to ruin TG.

It seems to have just about the right amount of everything.
I'm glad it's back, and as others have said it is the best car related thing on tv right now. I could watch Mr Leno all day long.

Odd isn't it?

A one page thread on Jay Leno's garage (the best car series on TV), while "The Grand Tour" is nearly 200 pages!

Explain that to me.

Good point. One is brash, the other is subtle, even sublime?

There were moments when Plato/VBH got to a similar level but then spoilt it in the next few minutes.

OP was too lazy to check for pre-existing threads on Jay Leno's Garage, of which there are several (there having been a few series, whereas this is Series 1 of the Grand Tour), meaning comments are diluted across several disparate threads instead of a single thread.

Just a theory...

Just watched this for the first time, thought it was excellent, is the first series as good?
