24 Legacy *no spoilers before official UK airing*
Discussion
I don't think a thread has been started about this - I really got in to 24 (as did a lot of people!) it took the genre and re-redefined a lot of the cliches and cliff hanger type events!
Hopefully it will be back to it's best - I think it's an all new cast i.e. none of the original cast at all.
Haven't really seen much about it, but saw an advert for it whilst on the Tube this week.
A load of blurb here on the wikipedia (not sure if there are any spoilers - don't think so.. but you've been warned, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24:_Legacy
According to http://www.geektown.co.uk/tvairdates/24-legacy/ it should air on 15th Feb at 9pm in the UK
or do we think its had it's day?

Looking forward to this and I hope it works well.
I tried to get back in to 24 late last year and start it all again, but Sky then droppped it from their Box Sets as far as I could see, which would mean I have to go and dig the box sets out of the spare room to watch them all; first world problems!
The trailers I've seen on Fox are playing homage to the original as well - "Right now, I'm the only one I can trust!" and the supporting cast is strong - Miranda Otto did well in Homeland S5, and I liked Jimmy Smits in The West Wing.

Sounding promising. More of the same, but without Jack:

Love 24. Thanks for posting about it, I didn't realise it was on so soon.
I don't see how programs like this can ever have their day. As long bad guys exist, there's stories to tell. The program writers just need to keep up to date with goings on in the world and write good content for it.

I thought 24 went into the toilet fairly quickly back in the day. One of it's issues was the series was written as it went along.
I was (am) addicted to it. S5 with Logan at his best was a highlight for me. I'm going to give the new one a go (obv would prefer JB in it though!)... Starts on Sunday State side.

IKWYM series 1 and 2 were excellent and then it went a bit bananas crazy with stuff that could never ever happen. I know it's a piece of fiction but the thing that makes this sort of viewing good is if it blurs the lines a little not go batsh!t crazy!! I think I binged it, so could forgive it.Never got as far as S5!

Yip, loved it back then, still new. I dropped out around halfway thru S3. The swap to SKy one who dissed it, after the BBC who cherished it, also helped. As much as I enjoyed earlier 24 by the later series it had really become a bit formulaic and same old, same old, where you could pretty much guess what was going to happen a few episodes in advance.
The whole spin-off / reboot exercise some networks have been doing the last few years just proves that a lot of them can't seem to come up with new ideas (to rival Amazon / Netflix, etc) and instead just decide to go back to an existing product / franchise they already own the rights to and see how much more they can drag out of it before it finally dies a slow, painful, death
I assume this will follow the formula of previous seasons? So a mole in CTU and possibly another in Government or local enforcement too and not forgetting that every Muslim / Arab in the US is a terrorist (even if they're not). Well it is the Fox network after all - you wouldn't expect anything different
