Probably. I was on IMDb last night and looked at this, 3.5 is a terrible score. amongst the acting and writing, it was also slammed for its blatant, in your face, box ticking wokeness.
S2 has already been ordered, surprisingly. And will continue, they're recasting the lead.New Batwoman lead has been named - Javicia Leslie

Never heard of her but had never heard of the other one either

Going to be interesting to see how they write the obvious character change & introduction for the new character - although in terms of "Batwoman" i guess it will be a case of nobody knows who's behind the mask anyway so it doesn't change that side of things. The only real change is how you introduce the character into the Fox / Wayne / batcave side of things.
I guess it's probably still easier than recasting the original "Kate Kane" character with a new lead.
Still, Lethal Weapon made it work after a change in lead character on that show. Although, maybe not the best example as that only lasted another shortened season before it was canned

Well unless they redesign the costume with a full mask then surely sooner or later someone might notice Batwoman change from white to black? They'll have to put a character shift into the story somehow.
Argh, i knew i shouldn't get too drawn into Batwoman - good old multi series crossover events - always good when shows are syndicated on the same channel(s) around the same time, but never when they get foisted out over many different platforms / channels / out of sync time periods...
...such as the fun this evening on E4. Last week i'm watching an episode of Batwoman where Alice gives Tommy a new face and creates fake Bruce Wayne, then this week i'm watching part ? of ? parts of a multi series crossover plotline with all the good / evil multiverse Batman, Superman, etc, characters.
That's going to make S2 even more confusing than just explaining a new lead. Unless of course, which i'm sure is the studios plan, i now invest time in watching everything related to all the crossover arcs / series in the hope it gives some form of explanation.

This reminds me, I've just seen a trailer for Superman & Lois, a spin off featuring the Superman that was in Supergirl and the later crossover event.

As someone who LOVED Smallville and the original Lois & Clark with Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher, I'm definitely going to watch this. Hell I'll watch any Supes content on telly no matter how bad it is!
