They're doing a perfectly adequate job IMO - it's not something to actively hate like Chris Evans doing it was. It's not at the top of where CHM got to but then they weren't always that good. I think they've earned themselves the right to keep at it and see if they can get a bit better next year.

Really enjoying the series so far but tonight's was the weakest episode for me. Loved the Aston piece until they dragged it out too long with the police chase. Nothing in the studio was worth watching and the Golf piece was terrible, I couldn't disagree more with Reid on practically everything he said in that, and the screamy shouty Ring piece (oo-err) was dreadful.

Best section was the Fiat bit, LeBlanc really came into his own on that. Next week though, please go back to the first two episodes and stop trying too hard to be funny, it didn't really work for me tonight.

How do you cope with the differing accents in the UK? You must hate the variance between north and south.

Excellent show, head and shoulders above 'Grand Tour' and I say this as someone who really looked forward to GT until it tuned out to be mostly rubbish.

A very entertaining show – I really enjoyed it, even though I have no interest in any of the cars shown tonight (except the Mk2 GTi).

Loved it, a great hours entertainment.

The first segment was in Montenegro.

Yep, thumbs up from me. They might be a bit awkward, and Rory somewhat irritating, but none of those minus points is a patch on that toxic little Hammond.

Really enjoyed it tonight, better than any episode of GT bar the 3 Hypercars anyway. Aston piece was one of the best I've seen TG in a long long time, If you haven't seen it yet Extra Gear is good also, especially for those who remember Max Power in the height of its popularity...

I just found it tiresome to watch. I like MLB (very natural and funny actor), can't stand the other two. The Golf bit was just laughably bad and the studio part with Tamsin Whatserface just dragged on and on and on and..... Missed the Fiat bit - guess it was at the end when I went outside for a fag 10 mins before the end and didn't bother going back.

Not for me.

I found it very dull, it's like moving into a new house with your typical magnolia paint job, adequate but not very inspiring.

Think back to the early days of new Top Gear, stuff like making a space shuttle out of a Reliant Robin, that stuff was funny and cutting edge entertainment.

The staged ring overtaking, its been done to death so many times by so many car programmes.

It's a hour of light entertainment and they are getting better every week yes

Enjoyed it although I'm still torn between the Aston or the Merc scratchchin

It's still a bit cringey. Two nerds and an ak-tor trying hard to be cool for skool. They are never going to reach the natural highs of Clarkson's posh school bully. But it is still decent entertainment.

Episode 2 = 6/10.

I think that they are gelling a lot more quickly than CHM did when they first started.

I thought it was pretty crap. The Aston bit was Ok but the rest was poor. So Sabine can lap faster in a Golf than Mr Average. Big deal. It really says very little.

Poor show tonight.

It's getting better. Mr Harris looked good in his villain suit. Mr Reid was less annoying until he said the Golf had "owned " another car and starting shouting a lot.
Sabine was sublime. The scriptwriters need to try harder. They seem to have forgotten the Fiat Barchetta. Mr The White was smooth though he has trouble pronouncing car names due to being American.

I am largely indifferent where TG is concerned. But the Clarkson era was becoming stale and the Evans effort was a failure. The current effort is largely watchable, though perhaps not groundbreaking.
