Surprised how many here are enjoying the show.

Harris is a terrible entertainer he had a niche as an online reviewer who could drive and had a passion for cars but he is dire in the scripted tg format.

The bond part was terrible because of this felt totally pointless the race with the mercedes.

The interview was also terrible with the fake teacher section on the track who found that funny?

And the ring part with sabine was just silly everyone knows they were letting her through yet she screamed when she would overtake while the guy reeled of some suspect car values.

There was little to like. The grand tour while still being worked on is far funnier i have seen some of them a few times.

gt3 launch control scene for example is a way funnier skit than anything this TG has done and that did not require any of the 3.if you have not seen check out 'censored to censored'
Surprised that people have different opinions of things?

To me nearly all of TGT was absolutely dire. I have zero desire to watch any of them ever again.
agree love new top gear hate tgt

Wow ok seems i am in the minority preferring TGT to new TG. While i cannot say TGT is that great i do prefer it to the new show where only MLB is any good.

I only watch it as there are no good car programs left and the filming is still decent.

I like the new TG, but still not a patch on the old TG or TGT, mainly due to chemistry/personality rather than the features.

Clarkson, May, Hammond feel like family/mates.

I thought Sunday's was a good one overall. The TG threads do cheer me up when people say they've never seen the celeb before and don't know who they are. This week people have never seen Black Books, Green Wing, Friday Night Dinner, Episodes, Shaun of the Dead or listened to The Archers in the last 20 years hehe .

Good bit on Extra about filming the Aston. They used an R8 to follow it with a camera on the front in a ball gimbal frame that could rotate around.

I like Top Gear, but I also like The Grand Tour.

But which one is better? There's only one way to find out.

In fairness, I knew who she is. But I have never seen Green Wing, Friday Night Dinner, Shaun of the Dead or listen to The Archers.

I have a friend who recently did some filming with a man called Messy. Apparently he kicks a football. How would I know that?

Because he told you? Unless he is one of those annoying people in life who assume you know who everyone famous is but don't understand how to answer a question? In the style of many people I have met in the past:

them: "I see Lionel Messi was in the news this week?"
Me "Who?"
T "you know, Lionel Messi?"
M: "no, can't say I am familiar with them, Who are they?"
"you know, Lionel Messi? Lionel Messi? You must have heard of them?
"No, I really couldn't say I have. Who are they, what do they do?"
"You don't know who Lionel Messi is? They are so famous!"

People like this are just as annoying as the people who don't listen to the bit where the presenter introduces the guest and then continue to ask why they were on the show. Because the guests coming on the show, are generally given an introduction that tells you who they are and why they are famous. You may not have known them previously, but the show will give you enough information about them and what they are plugging, if you wanted to know of course.

Ha, I've re-read my post. I wanted it to come across that I agreed with you. Perhaps it didn't.

You shouldn't be expected to know who someone is just because they are famous, because they might only be famous in very specific circles. Football/sport is definitely one of those areas.

[off topic]

It's worth a watch - think it's available on All 4 / 4OD as a box set.

I don't like football.

But I have picked up on the majority of major players - I just assumed most would absorb it (consciously or not) from the background noise of the modern world....

I certainly have never consciously seen the man play football, but I know the name.

Just an observation.

Yep, that would be me.

I still have no idea who the self important Tamsin Greig is.

And no matter what you say about Harris being a great driver and car enthusiast, he's doing himself no favours at all coming across as a bully cock sure bellend.

To be fair though, that still puts him in better category than Clarkson...hehe

This is surprising, why? Is it so shocking that other people have a life and don't sit in ftront of the Tv all day? (I lied about having a life but you get the point...).
Actors in major films are more likely to be known through big publicity but if you don't watch a lot of TV and avoid chat shows and Graham Norton, these people are unknowns.
I mean who is that Chris Harris they keep having as a guest?
