Was Firefly a follow on from Serenity or the other way round?

Westworld was great - binged it in two days.

I don't remember a series of that, need to go find it.

Limitless was good, shame it was dropped.
The Transporter was bad but in a good cheesy way, no worse than Knight Rider etc.
Fargo was ok but I lost interest at S2.

In some cases there is a spin off from the film rather than a direct follow on, Marvel seem to do a lot these.

I remember a picture of BLue Thunder series on TV Look (that old 80s kids mag?) but I never saw it, I recall Bubba thingio from Police Academy was in it, loved the film as a kid and still do, it has aged extremely well.

I also recall enjoying LOgan's Run as a very small kid...it is never repeated. I saw the film later on and was cinfused a tad...man, now I need to watch some 70/s/80's sci-fi, that was the best.
The PLanet of the APes series was dogst. I watched that much later at uni.

I thought Blue Thunder was only a TV series, I I recall a film length episode/pilot not a proper Cinema/film.

Does Daredevil count?
Lemony Snicket is a terrific series. Never saw the film.

Proper film, Roy Schieder was in it - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085255/

then a year later they did the TV series with an all new cast - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086671/

Roy is true A-class, the film is seminal. I fancy watching it now. The only thing that would even date it is the huge fking tape.

Well I never. Long time ago, I remember Roy in it so must have mixed the two up.

Series had Dana Carvey in it!

The TV version of 'Frequency' (Jim Catweasel movie) is quite watchable.

Been going on for ages. Some recent some old.

Film / TV Series

Alien Nation / Alien Nation
Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Blue Thunder / Blue Thunder
From Dusk till Dawn / From Dusk till Dawn the series
Hannibal films / Hannibal
Indiana Jones films / Loosely: Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
Logan's Run / Logan's Run
Planet of the Apes / Planet of the Apes series
Pyscho / Bates Motel
Terminator films / Sarah Connor Chronicles
Westworld / Westworld

Probably more if you think about it.
The oldest one I can think of is "Dixon of Dock Green" - which evolved out of the feature film "The Blue Lamp", a film made in 1950.

Wasn't the character played by Jack Warner who went on to play Dixon killed in the Blue Lamp.

ok, didnt realise it had occurred more often that i thought (though some suggestions are 'old'), and while its all relative to the viewer but what are the decent crossovers, For example, i liked Ben Affleck as Dare Devil and enjoy the tv series, yet others think the film is ste. However, can we count on Marvel programmes given the comics came first?

Anyway, Shooter TV Series = waste of time
Constantine (yes a DC comic) was quite good i thought but been canned

In that vein, "Alias Smith and Jones" bore some resemblances to "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid".

Westworld was a brilliant series, I've never watched the short lived 80's series "Beyond Westworld" though

Blue Thunder was a pretty different premise from the film wasn't it? I seem to remember there being a support truck and other people helping him out. Was it supposed to be a sequel to the film, and if so how did they get around the helicopter being destroyed at the end of the film?

There's also a lot of animated series based on films: Little Shop of Horrors, Men in Black, Ghostbusters, Bill and Ted...

If "in that vein" Alias Smith and Jones was based on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, like McLoud was on Coogan's Bluff, then yes.
