Currently expected to be released on 25th May 2018. However, Rogue One was originally slated for a May 16 release and got pushed back to December.

I believe the film is about a young Han Solo. So having Harrison Ford in it would be daft.

I like how everyone is just themselves prior to filming, apart from Chewbacca, as if that is what he is like in real life

I believe the point is don't make the film in the first place.

TBh it's answering a question that no one has asked and IMO it'll be just as poor as the universally loved ( but I think terrible snoozefest) rogue one.

It's no longer his to milk, when he sold Lucasfilm all rights to Star Wars went with it. He does have around £$2b in Disney shares though, and with the form Disney have been on lately that's probably quite a bit more now.

Disney will milk it to within an inch of its life. There is a vast machine churning out these things every year until you die.

You can already see the falling trajectory of quality. TFA decent, R1 okish, Han solo will likely be a competently made film but with no soul and bland story.

They can't do anything without crowbarring in the OTT fanservice.

You don't have to see the film or even acknowledge its existence though. As others have said, Disney will milk this for all its worth and like Rogue One, these additional films are purely to keep the money rolling in and the hype up. Stick to the main films and i'm sure you'll be happy!
