What an embarrassment.

The sad bits aren't great - they're pretty harrowing as always - but the comedic bits are pathetic.

It's getting an absolute slating on Twitter. Even the BBC know that the viewers are only waiting for Love Actually - so it'll probably be shown about midnight.

That will buy two gallons of unleaded for a dictator's Mercedes. Thank you for your contribution.

Finding it more disappointing than normal tbh.

The stage layout is terrible. And the direction is all over the place. The sound is poor as well. I usually find myself laughing along but not so much so far.

Do people seriously still bother with this as either a TV or charity event? It feels like it's been dead for years.

Who's that fat bird in the silver skirt?...she looks terrible - talk about makeup-disaster.

Overall...this is much worse than previous years.
Is this really the cream of BBC talent? Miranda as unfunny as ever - I wish she'd retire or something.

That sketch with Susanna Reid was the worst thing I've seen on TV in decades. Overall, it's dire.

Vic and Bob. Say no more. See also: French and Saunders. I'd donate more if they'd promise to go away.

I was curious about her too, seems she someone funny apparently.

The rest of it I don't really hate, a mix of older and newer comedy types and it's all put together in typically slick BBC live TV style, which means 50% of it works sometimes and rest they just crash though regardless. If they raise some money then I guess it can't be all bad.

I would be tempted to give some money if it didn't go to Africa. They've been scamming us for years and years and yet still it continues. Shocking really.

I usually quite like it but it is particularly cringe tonight. The female comedian definitely didn't walk past a mirror on the way in.

Love Actually just about saved it but it's dreadful overall.

It's sad but can't help but think these poor little African babies who just suffer and die should never have been brought into this world at all.

Let's face it, that continent needs a mass Durex airdrop.

Africa is like we were in the 1900's very poor families having large numbers of children because they knkw many would die before 5 but one or two will sirvive. Also no birth control. (difference is it is available now but many African men refuse to wear condoms)

I skipped through 140mins of what looked like utter rubbish to watch the love actually sketch. I thought it was quite good. Rowan Atkinson hasn't changed in 13 years! Ill find the People just do nothing on the interweb tomorrow. There are a lot of very unfunny 'comedians' around at the moment
