OK, it's no longer a comedy, though there was more humour in this episode. The latest episode was the best so far, so I can forgive it and enjoy for what it is, excellent sci-fi.

I’ve really enjoyed the last two episodes, great tv - my only issue which is probably just me is I can’t stand Dr Clare, her look, voice, story- everything. I find myself flicking ahead in 10 second jumps until she’s off screen.

We still laugh like drains in most of the episodes. There’s still plenty of funny stuff.

Yeah enjoyed this week's too. Got to feel sorry for Gordon. Clearly that last time was "enough is enough" laugh
"I'll do it"... made me laugh out loud smile

2 best comedy moments imo are from early on when Ed forgets the admiral is still onscreen and calls him an ass or something
And my fave was Isaacs prank on Gordon taking his leg.

well I did enjoy E7 of this series. Interesting (as a lot of Orville tends to be) and enough humour: not to mention some developments...

Dolly looks even more like a dolly these days. That whole storyline was hysterical but um...hoping some cgi was involved with her there as she looked very odd.

Good story and episode again.

Anyone think Gordons outburst was meant as a dig at currrent times?

It certainly fit but this season was written and started filming in 2019 and completed August last year after a Covid break.

she does look pretty damn amazing for a 76 year old - but not quite as good as on Orville

Ah yeah - does look like they did a bit of CGI magic on her then. She also looked like her head was too big and jawline very masculine - I guess that was all just cgi though thankfully!

This is apparantly the last season frown
You can kind of guess how its all going to end up by the plot points of the prevous episodes.

Another good episode.

I did kind of sigh at the start when it became obvious it was going to be another gender based episode but it got better as it went on.

I think anyone who's a dad could relate to Bortus in this one.

i think that is fair, better quality over quantity. This season has felt like each episode was a movie.

Not confirmed either way as yet. MacFarlane wants to make more as do a lot of the cast. Seems it will be down to audience numbers as it's not cheap to make

I hope it's not canned. It definitely feels like it's got legs yet, this season has unquestionably been the best, even if there are less gags.

A feature length film or two would be nice.

With episode 8 at 87 minutes, it's not far off feature length

Not been announced yet but my confidence is not boosted by the move to Hulu.

The business model of these channels is to attract constant new customers, as is Prime, Paramount, Netflix etc.

Plenty of excellent series get cancelled to make way for new ones to attract more sign ups.

Unless your fan base is so massive (Star Trek & Star Wars) that people will cancel subscriptions if you drop a program, I don't see it renewing.

Shame because Orville is now an excellent piece of TV Sci Fi
