Wow, I didn't realise that the TV packages were so expensive! I'm on Virgin with the 100 broadband, I get the telephone with free evening and weekends and then the Tivo box but only freeview and freeview HD channels....The Tivo box thing has not been turned on since the initial install. The only reason we had it was it was cheaper to get all three, we only wanted the broadband!

I have Netflix so just use the TV to watch this. Even with the Tivo recording function, I can't be bothered waiting for the TV schedule to catch up to what I want to watch, I want it now as I sit down after a day at work!

Well have had a play with Virgin TV for a few days now.

In the end i ended up with Full house Tv, Sky sports HD and 100mb broadband all for £103/Month eek

The Tivo V6 box is very good, very quick and easy to use.
Can even use my iphone to change channel or set programme to record.

Im surprised how poor the picture quality is on the standard definition tv for this day in age?

However the HD channels are incredible picture quality, so glad i went for full house.

The F1 channel in HD is much better quality than nowtv was.
In fact all sport seems epic in HD!

Its a little disappointing not all channels have a HD (disc turbo etc).

Why do we still have standard definition channels? Surely 1080p should be the standard now?

HD takes up a lot of bandwidth.

Yes, very useful. The app also works with the standard Tivo box.

Cool new feature with the V6 is that you can (if you're on the same network) watch the recordings on your phone (and even download them for watching elsewhere)

Interesting. Can you watch all stored recordings on your phone/tablet or just some? Same question, can you download any stored recording?

Not all of them, there seem to be rights restrictions on some things. Most seem to work.

The ability to watch recordings on your other TiVo boxes (we have three, two old, one new) now works though, which is cool

Thanks. I don't think I can stream recordings on the old box which is something I've always wanted to do. Its Virgin account review time so I may try to leverage a new box out of them - although I'll then lose my recordings.
