It's complicated; the leg that was sent to Robin was from a young woman who had once requested Strike's help in amputating her own leg as a result of body dysmorphia.

Wiki synopsis here.

This, and “Collateral” have been amongst the best dramas at the moment.

Two, and four, episodes. Like a good short story rather than one of those series they stretch out for six or even eight episodes....

There's a new book in the pipeline, so fingers crossed for more to come.

Not for a good while, sadly.

Agreed - the books are great and the programmes shown a couple of years ago were good too,
but sadly, so far, this newly broadcast series is very poorly made.

+1 (apart from reading the books)

I thought I was watching a rom drama - all anguished looks and pensive pauses getting in the way of a good whodunnit with archetypal damaged PI.
Do the books change in tone too?

New series (Strike: Troubled Blood) starts on Sunday 11th at 9pm on BBC1. I assume all 4 episodes will be available on iPlayer immediately after.

I agree. I don’t think the latest book is going to make gripping viewing though!

The latest one dragged on far too long.
