Only listened to the one with STG and really enjoyed it. Liking Harris more and more, and great that he just loves cars and speaks very honestly about them.

Same. Never heard of STG until that podcast, not particularly enamoured enough with him to watch him, but I thought the conversation between Harris and STG was great. I especially liked Harris talking about the finance deals on cars and how they're another subprime mortgage crisis waiting to happen. I've been saying that for ages now, and it was nice to hear someone in the industry say the same thing.

On the back of this, I'm going to have to watch the new Top Gear. I stopped after Chris Evans, had no interest in watching Matt le Blanc driving (thought he was a fairly boring person). But this Harris chap seems like an honest type of guy.

Edward Lovett (July 1852 – 1933) was an English folklorist, recognised for his collections of charms, amulets, and objects used in children's games - what a chancer eh?

Great content, appalling sound quality!

What’s the story with Edward Lovett?!

I’ve been enjoying them since discovering via PH. I like Harris and he seems genuinely interested in cars.

Also interested re Edward Lovett.

I'm assuming Ed's Dad is Dick Lovett. He doesn't contribute a great deal, and to be honest not listening to them because of Ed seems a bit odd as I've really enjoyed these podcasts smile

I know it’s free and it’s not ‘owed’ to us, but I wish they was a bit more consistent with the release day.

It was supposed to be every Wednesday. Last weeks was late and nothing so far this week.
I know Harris isn’t relying on it for a living but I’ve heard numerous podcasters saying how important it is to be consistent in order to be successful at it.

Thanks for the heads-up OP.

I follow both Harris and Lovett on Twitter/Insta - god I love EL's Singer! - but had somehow managed to miss this.

Also interested re: Lovett. I'd always presumed he was son of Dick and wonder what he's done that offended the earlier poster.

All of this. I can imagine he's got some good trade stories to tell. That one he mentioned about the manual X5 was a pretty good one.

It’s not that exciting my end I’m afraid guys. I worked for Dick Lovett 10 years back, Peter Lovett (Dicks son) owns the company, Edward (Peters son) was BMW used car sales manager.
I’ve never met such a narcissistic, arrogant, demeaning, coattail riding censored in all my life. To walk around like gods gift and treat others like absolute scum because your dad’s got a few quid is utterly shameful and I wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire, let alone listen to his podcasts!
There are reasons why he’s no longer part of the DL empire, but they’re not my stories to share.
Peter on the other hand, lovely chap!

So you left on amicable terms then?

Really enjoying the podcast, some of the stories are fantastic. Needs a bit of work on the audio, fine one my Mac but a nightmare in the car... constantly adjusting the volume.

I agree smokeey - I've been patiently waiting for the latest episode too.

Perhaps they're waiting for new audio recording equipment to arrive wink

I started with the Richard Porter one, because Sniff Petrol/Smith & Sniff. Going to do them in order now, half way through ep1 Andrew Frankel and I'm definitely going to have to binge them to catch up smile

Another new episode released - the guest is Tiff Needell as mentioned in other thread.
